Mark Chapman is a Hull fan, he started following them when he came to uni in Hull. It must have been the producers that made them focus on that because he, like all Hull fans would have seen it for what it was, a blatant knock on!

Mark Chapman is a well known Hull fc fan having studied at Hull uni...so that doesn't add up...probably dislikes City though.

The reason they focused on it was it was a controversial decision. Lee Redford who was miked up for the game by the BBC said it was a try because Carlos had tried to reef the ball as Clubb tried to ground it when he saw the to replay. Personally after viewing it a few times it was a case of Clubb trying to ground the ball moving his arm in the opposite way Carlos was pushing against to stop him doing it and the ball came free. For all the possession and terroritory Hull had in the game they should have been far further ahead on the scoreboard than they were making that last minute disallowed try by Wigan irrelevant even if it hadn't been a forward pass

It'll be at Old Trafford or the Emptihad next year.

Even the second tier play off game City fans boycotted got more than that (70,189), and without other teams' fans to boost the gate.

But I wonder if the Allams caught a glimpse of the civic reception and the thousands upon thousands of happy customers who rally round the flag on days like these, and the open top bus tour that cements the bond between club and the people of this city.

    Nah, you're right. No chance...

They can't move it, it's one of the ten core events for Club Wembley members.

    Hell of a turn-out yesterday...

I wonder why so many Norwich fans turned up.

My view was that it was a try but the try they scored prior to it should have been disallowed as the guy who picked up the kick from his goal area was in touch. Swings and roundabouts.

Hull defender was purely trying to hold him on his back to prevent the ball from being grounded. The Wigan player then tries to twist and bring the ball with him, and it is his duty to secure the ball. At no point did the Hull player pull at the ball, and how could he when he was laid on his back?

It won't be at Old Trafford, they already have the grand final there and it can't be at the Etihad because its not big enough for even the smallest Challenge Cup Final crowd. Its been at Wembley for over 80 years that won't change anytime soon.

Lets be honest how many were 'boycotting' the play off final and how many just couldn't be bothered to go? Did we boycott the FA Cup Semi-Final as well?

To be honest, if Wigan had taken the same number of fans as Hull did, then there would have been 83,000 there and nobody would mention the crowd

It was a final featuring the most successful, world wide known RL team and the one whose fans think theirs is from the world capital of rugby. Yet it attracted the lowest ever crowd since the return to the new Wembley. Has the attraction if the Challenge Cup worn off? It won't be discussed on RH which often discusses the FA Cup losing its magic despite there being the highest total crowds since 1964.
The RFL's reluctance to leave things alone and move it from its natural and logical time to August hasn't helped. It is obvious their main emphasis is on the play-offs and Grand .Final in order to pad out the season.

Of course there would have been. Of course. Anything to back up there being 15,000 more FC fans there than Wigan ones. Every previous final Wigan has played in has had a larger crow. Why did tgey stay away from one against the biggest, most well known club in the universe and everywhere else?
No doubt if Rovers had taken more fans to the 1980 final there would have been as many as there was for the Wigan V Hull final a short time later.

The people who run RL won't like their showcase game having empty stands.

Saw that poor lass who had to do Abide With Me get let down by the people who control the music.

Chapeau to Chappo for rightly slating them ("Utter shambles") and ruining her day of a lifetime

Seriously, you reckon if more people had gone, the attendance would have been higher. <yikes>

Yes, it was a crying shame for her. You had to admire her for getting through it.

Whereas in the case of Andy Payton Billy took the more direct route by just chucking a turd at him.
