That's why i think it would be fatal to Wenger if this happened. But Sanchez looks miserable now and with City being the most likeliest suitor, it is looking more likely. From a good start to the window to the worst ending of any window we've had. Wow.

If that Lemar to Liverpool deal happens I will be ****ing livid. Because it will mean it didn't happen because we dicked around.

As a life-long (and it seems very long at the moment!) Arsenal supporter, this is the lowest I have felt in terms of season expectations. I didn't get to the game or watch it on tv but had to suffer the over-enthusiastic condemnation of our inept performance by that most intelligent of football pundits, Robbie Savage. As a fan I was embarrassed by what I was hearing. Whilst the message was that Liverpool were superb, it was also that we were appalling. One comment of his struck home when he described Wenger and Bould as just sitting there doing nothing when they should have, at least, been seen to be standing up and bollocking the team. I have remained a Wenger supporter for longer than a lot of others that contribute to this board but I have to admit that I thought his time was up when we won the FA Cup last year.
All this is embarrassing. I'm struggling to remember if this has happened elsewhere or if this is Wenger et al creating a new football revolution, this time in the transfer market. You couldn't make it up!

I would too. How Liverpool could come in and get him while we put in all the leg work? Also it's not like we are short of money either, as we could match Liverpool. This will leave a very bad taste in a lot of fans mouths. I hope it doesn't happen as there is already too much negativity at the moment.

Here's what we should attempt to do...
    • Sell Mustafi - for £35m to Inter.
    • Sell Chamberlain for £40m
    • Buy Van Dijk for £50-60m - Southampton are reluctant to deal with Liverpool.
    • If Sanchez wants to force a move from Arsenal. I would take Aguero plus cash.
    • Buy a quality midfielder to replace the injured Carzorla. (Goretska, Carvalho,)
    • Buy Draxler/Lemar/Moura.

    ---------------------------Cech------------------------------
    ----------Holding-----VanDijk-----Koscielny-----------
    Bellerin------Goretska------Xhaka---------Kolasinac
    ---------------------Draxler/Ozil---------------------------
    --------------Aguero----------Lacazette-----------------

Bench: Giroud, Ramsey, Monreal, Ozil/Draxler, Ospina, Wellbeck.

Sky sports reckon Liverpool have had two bids for Lemar rejected. Maybe they aren't going to sell him to anybody after all.

Will still be a ****ing shambles of a window for us unless we sign a creative mid and another defender.

Agree with that. Although Aguero won't come to Arsenal. If mustafi is going then get Van Dijk. Ox has gone so get draxler or Lemar. Santi isn't coming back in any form this season (or maybe ever) so get Goretska or Seri.

Why the **** do we dick around so much with transfers. Chelsea, Utd, city and Liverpool have gone out and got their players. Other than Lacazette we've done ****

    Yeah agreed.

The Wenger/Gazidis team seems horrible inefficient. Lets see what last minute deals they try and force through.

We always try to buy too cheaply for selling clubs, whereas Chelsea, United and City just ask what the price is and pay it - we just try to haggle.

After all the doom and gloom surrounding Arsenal's form and rumours of Ox, Sanchez and Ozil leaving there is a Ray of good news breaking through the dark clouds over the Emirates.....Gibbs is not leaving as he can't agree terms with Watford <whistle>

    Thank God.

Good to know we have another short fullback Wenger can play in his back three.

    Here's what will happen

    • Mustafi will be sold or loaned to Inter in spite of your obvious defensive issues.
    • Ox will go to Chelsea, Fair enough, he's not pulled up any trees lately.
    • Van Dijk will go to Chelsea (if Saints do sell) as he's on record he wants CL footy.
    • Not a snowball in hell's chance Aguero would join Arsenal in their current state. Sterling may be persuaded, so another young English player can stagnate under Wenger.
    • No midfielder will be bought to replace Santi.
    • Lemar is not for sale and I can't see Draxler going to Arsenal. Moura may be doable as he is well down the pecking order at PSG.

It's gonna be a long season and Wenger needs to take the Europa seriously.

Sorry but it looks like Gibbs is on his way out, instead of Watford, to West Brom. I think the only thing holding Gibbs back is the paycheck! But £5m for Gibbs is piss poor for today's transfer standards. I suspect it's something to do with his wages that has forced us to reduce the fee.

West Brom are close to completing the signing of left-back Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal.

The clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £5m for the 27-year-old, who had also been in talks with Watford and Galatasaray.

He still needs to undergo a medical and sign his contract.

The Ox deal is apparently worth £40m. Although I'm sad to see him go, that is a good deal for a player who hasn't exactly set the emirates alight.

The thing now is that we have to invest that money and get a replacement. Draxler or Lemar please.

Do not want to see Wenger saying 'we have Reiss Nelson who can play there' as much as a good prospect he looks, he is not a replacement who can play 38 games this season at the level we need.
