Yeah, it's somewhat of a two-layer point. Liverpool fans put their club on too high a pedal stool. Fans of clubs below Liverpool put the club on too low a pedal stool. Liverpool are not attractive enough to compete with the very best clubs for a player's affections. But they are still attractive enough for most.

The answer is probably yes and no. They scout for unknown players such as fernandes But clearly for most of their signings they go off recognisable names and don't even bother to watch them and/or analyse whether they fit their system They could well use football manager for some of their more obscure signings (with Sullivan's son playing). Especially given that on FM17 all of those terrible players they signed last year were made to be significantly better than they actually were
