**** paying £55m for a player you can't even use until a years time. Not that it'd happen but imagine if Pool were relegated this season, Keita would be fuuuuming! Arsenal are becoming more and more of a joke club with each passing day - and this isn't even stemming from my ridiculous hate towards them (maybe a little bit) - but selling a fairly important player to one of your most fierce rivals is beyond madness. £18m is superb business for a guy we paid £4m for and played less than 20 league games in two seasons. That said, he's worth that sort of dough, Stoke have got themselves a promising CB there. Welcome aboard Foythy. May the Forth be with you here at Spurs (told you I could keep going with this @Citizen Kane ). Aurier will be here, I'm pretty sure Levy wouldn't be pursuing the deal if he genuinely felt Aurier would be denied entry. While it's fair to say I'm far from Sissoko's biggest fan, it's not on that Spurs fans have been sending him abusive and discouraging messages over social media.
I've only just realized the window closes on Thursday night. I thought it was Friday! Squeaky bum time now. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the official confirmation of Aurier and Foyth are held back until Thursday to soften the blow of not getting a midfielder/attacker. I can't see Sissoko or Janssen going anywhere now, as replacing them with 60 hours left in the window would be virtually impossible. And to be honest, despite how little I rate Sissoko in particular, we're so short of options I'm not sure loaning or selling him now is sensible. With levy negotiating to the last penny, getting another over one in on deadline day is unlikely, IMO. An "I tried" scenario is very likely.
It's one thing making jokes on here but slating the guy on social media is disgraceful. Even weirder after his very decent subs performance on Sunday.
Chill mate, in Levy's terms, he's still got 6 weeks of school holiday until panic stations. 6pm on Thursday is when he will actually enter the market and get **** done .
You better hope the players don't stumble across this website! If they read some of your matchday posts...
Who have we actually signed on Deadline day who has turned out to be decent that takes us forward? Other than VDV I can't think of any others.
Hugo. Dempsey too, wasn't one that shook the world but he was a handy squad player that year, popped up at some vital times. Wasn't Scotty Parker one as well?
Oh look, a new angle on the Aurier story designed to make us look like ****: https://translate.google.com/transl...r-a-manchester-united-1244561.html&edit-text= Lloris, Eriksen, Lamela.
Were they all on deadline day?! I thought they were during the final week. I take that back! Edit: I seem to remember most of those (except for Dempsey) being lined up before the day, and just needing to be finalized I think the point I am getting at is someone out of left field who we don't expect. VDV is the only one I remember.
Bye bye Kev BREAKING NEWS Stoke have completed the signing of Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham for £18m The defender has signed a five-year deal at the bet365 Stadium.
VDV was an exception though if you're looking for those types of signings mate. Worth remembering he was due to sign for Bayern literally 24 hours prior to us getting him, and he was going for something like £25m too (when £25m was actually a **** load of dough in football). Then suddenly the deal falls flat, Real wanted rid so we got him on the cheap, the chance of that sort of deal ever happening again is 1/1000.
The other option was to pay through the nose for a transfer that will take place next summer. What club would be so stupid?
