I would be happy with Dicko, he is one of those niggling little players who always seem to get on the end of loose balls in the box. He has that nasty and annoying streak that gets under defenders skin, a lot like Campbell.
On their forum they say an injury set him back. I just hope he's not one of those players we get cheaper as he's been injured in recent seasons and then his injury problems come back with us.
I was thinking that because I did read on their forums that he had been a very good player for them but not quite the same since his injury how ever he has played in all their games this season so let's hope he is over the injury problems and a new start with us will do him and us good. When you are spending around 3.5 million on strikers then you are restricted but hopefully he will do a decent job for us. Hopefully we will get Irvine sorted today because if you are player of the season at any club in the championship then you should have something about you plus the fact he has scored a decent amount of goals from the midfield which is something we need to add to and with him been a decent header gives us another threat going forward.
Derby fans don't seem a happy bunch on Twitter. Plenty seem peeved to have missed out on Irvine and seem envious of the business we're trying to get done. Feels strange for another set of fans to think like that after this summer!
Just wondering why it's 'only' £3.5 million? At his age, best years still to come. Doesn't seem much these days. I think lad from Burton has a release clause so that explains that one.
Generally speaking, they seem a bit obsessed with us. They were crowing like murder after they signed Hudd and Davies for around 2.5m. Then, every transfer we were involved in, they were commenting on our social media platforms suggesting they were't as good value as the aformentioned. So, the situation seems to have revolved and after they've spent 7m on Lawrence, maybe they're struggling either cash wise or FFP wise. Good stuff.
If we can get Dicko up to speed somewhere near his form of 2 to 3 seasons ago he'll be a tremendous asset for us .. i seem to think last season he got injured early then it took time to recover so wasn't as prolific .. although at my age my memory is failing ! Given what we have let go and who we are slowly recruiting this may not turn out to be as bad as we first feared but let's hope we get these deals over the line together with a few more before the transfer window closes.
Considering we're swapping a lumbering, 'take an extra touch and put your foot on the ball rendering any quick break pointless' midfielder like Tom - who no doubt was on more money - with an all action genuine box to boxer then you can see why. When others were pissing their pants about this scenario and the 'disgraceful' £2m fee it's almost as if some were suggesting it was exactly what we should be doing.
It does seem that we have moved Tom and Curtis on at the right time, Tom particularly seems to have got even slower and ponderous than he was with us, and is getting a lot of stick from the Derby fans. I have to say, even though it has taken time to get replacements in, Leo seems to have made sure he has brought in decent players not just squad fillers.
Wondering if its £3.5 million plus add on's, has had a horrendous time with injury over the last couple of seasons, as has been said.
