    <ok>
    Although there are the players that he'd worked with before in Germany's 4th tier. I'm sure he had a say in their recruitment.

    Not sure. Been linked a few times before. Another very tall and slow CB. We don't seem to be doing very well with these.

    Grant Hanley is the new, very strong, rumour. What would he cost?

    With the Rumours of Aiden Flint & Grant Hanley surfacing let's hope we haven't locked the door after the horse has bolted. Having conceded 3 goals against Sunderland, 4 against Villa & Millwall perhaps a defender should have been brought in sooner, especially as our only clean sheet so far this season has been against QPR. I only hope that it will not be at the expense of seeing another player leave Carrow Road, as with the sales of Howson & Jacob Murphy I would have thought we would have been able to afford to bring in new players now, especially as we have also loaned some players out.

    There is reportedly competition for both of these CBs. My guess is that Webber and Farke hoped that the two German CBs would be good enough but it hasn't worked out. So here we are trying to put fingures into plugging up dams at a very late stage of the transfer window. Tettey will be sold to help finance the two extra CBs. I only hope that it isn't too little too late.

    If you were Flint or Handley would you want to go to a club now in the bottom 3 of Championship?

    That's a test for SW! I'd prefer Hanley of the two, but we certainly need someone.

    I don't see how we can get Hanley, Newcastle must pay better than we do as a championship club, but I bet he also got a promotion based wage uplift too. So unless he is desparate to play football (Unlike our money splinter loving bunch) I don't see how we offer enough/can get him. Flint on the other hand I think that we could compete with on wages, but are we more desirable? Ordinarily I'd say yes, before we had kicked a ball this season I'd have said yes. But after the start we've made, unless I considered myself to be a miricle worker I think I would need a serious wages uplift.

    Bah!

    Not a bad signing if true. Prefer him to Flint. Both are tall, and not very fast. Both really strong in the air, but I think Hanley has a bit more quality. I just worry about his discipline. He does seem a bit of a hot head.

    But we all know we need someone. So I welcome him in. Maybe add a bit more fight and vocals to our back line.

    Anywhere mention a fee? Doubt he'd be cheap, especially on wages.

    Three reds in his career - not that bad for someone who puts himself about a bit.

    Getting a mixed reception on twitter, one comment I found interesting, "Let's hope it is the Blackburn Hanley and not The Newcastle one????"

    We need someone who puts themselves about. The new boys despite their height look easy to bully and there are a lot of Championship forwards with the nous to boss fledglings around as we have already seen. I welcome the addition of someone with a reputation for being no pushover and hopefully his experience and know-how will give our feeble defence a bit more steel.

    Ok. If so, In this market, I think that's a good deal. I was expecting a few million more than that.
