There's talk of Townsend going to Leicester for £27m! <laugh>

Interestingly that could mean that Gray and/or Mahrez might be on the move...

Juan Foyth is again missing from tonight's Sky's Top 10 Transfer Whispers. Not even on there as part of a prospective move to PSG.
He'd be the ideal replacement for Gray at Leicester. One trying the ridiculously spectacular to continue/resurrect a dying/dead international career, the other trying to remind his management that he's still at the club and could have been a major part of the future for a club whose major talents want out....NOW!

Gray needs out of Leicester. Their new manager is wedded to hoofing the ball up for Vardy to chase and playing all the faces that did the impossible 2 seasons back. Unfortunately, for him, the surprise has gone (other than when playing Wenger) and that team is ageing and the better elements have/will be gone.

There's zero prospect of him learning how to play proper football or anything else that could make him an international player or get him a spot somewhere involved in a European competition, other than as a dancer/backing singer in a Eurovision Song Contest entrant. He'd be so much better off at somewhere like Bournemouth.

Monaco are said to want Islam Slimani from Leicester to replace Kylian Mbappe.

If you look up the meaning of the phrase "After the Lord Mayor's Show", the entry says..................

"Monaco are said to want Islam Slimani from Leicester to replace Kylian Mbappe."

He meant me. It's easy to get us confused as we're both so uncontrollably optimistic about incoming players <whistle>

He's been "traveling to London today" for literally about a week.
Slowest journey from South America ever recorded.

Strong rumours that Foyth is finally travelling over for his medical today and will be announced tomorrow.

Aurier hopefully will be announced tomorrow or Tuesday giving us 2-3 days to bring in 1 or 2 attacking players.

Those heavily linked with the club are -

Barkley - High chance of him coming, versatile option for the squad. Out injured til xmas though.

Balde - Lazio want to sell, rumoured to be affordable. Spurs are interested, unfortunately the player wants Juventus

Sancho - Unbelievable talent. City playing hard ball. Really wants to come to spurs. Probably wont be ready for first team games, possibly cup appearances.

King - Would be a good sensible signing if a little unspectacular. Would Bournemouth sell so late in the window??

Mahrez - Expensive as Leicester want £40m+ but absolute quality. His attitude and work rate is questionable though.

Gray - A precocious talent, pace skill and versatile. Largely untested. Will Leicester sell though?

Who do you guys want us to sign or think we will sign?

The claim is that he's bringing his whole family, so he wanted to make sure that the deal was all but done before they came over.
Seems a little excessive to me, but if it helps him to settle in and prevents homesickness, then an extra week is nothing, really.
We've already got plenty of Argentinians at the club too, which should help.

Considering the reports about Lamela being homesick and having trouble settling during his first season, anything that would help Foyth get settled is an advantage.

Out of that list? Hard to say. I know nothing about Sancho other than the fact that a number of posters are raving about him, and I trust their opinion. But he's unlikely to cost much money at all, so i'd like to think that if we do bring him in, it would be as a 'plus one' to a bigger signing.

Balde sounds interesting and would cost less than Barkley or Gray, and a fraction of Mahrez. But reports suggest that he is very happy in Italy and has no desire to come to us. Chances are he'll see out the final year of his contract and walk to Juve next year.

Mahrez is too expensive and has a terrible work ethic as you say. No doubt he's a talent, but let's not forget he has had 1.5 years of top level football in his career and is supposedly at his peak. I don't think he - or any of the Leicester team for that matter - is as good as the title season made him out to be. If he was, far bigger clubs than Roma would've swooped already.

Which leaves Barkley or Gray. The latter please. Zero point bidding for Barkley until January and I also think that Gray offers us the 'something different' that we currently lack.

If Wimmer, N'Koudou and Sissoko leave, then I'd be happy to see Gray and Barkley come in.
If Janssen also goes, then King or (preferably) Origi would be decent replacements.
I agree with CK on Balde and Sancho. Both seem like very good players and prospects, but the deals look out of our hands.

Gray has also at least had some PL forays with Leicester.
IMHO the Barkley injury may become a blessing in disguise this summer.

Wanyama not only being dropped from the starting lineup today but not even making the bench can only mean one thing

...what do you mean "he's injured"? Obviously it means he wants to leave Spurs for a club with more money than sense or responsibility!
