This is excelllent and is how I feel. I wish I'd thought of wording a lot of my previous posts like this, with one extra addition...

... "and sometimes other teams do it faster or smarter."

I'd like to think this is the case and that it is just the media that is the main entity pushing this story

And yet ManC, PSG and the like get away with it. There are ways around FFP, as other football clubs prove.

Agreed. And his sniveling apology as he looks to be intergrated back into the squad will be worth £70M alone!

As far as I can tell only the Middle East oil clubs have really got around it. Even Chelsea seem beholden to the rules now. I am not certain why this is

Happy to be pointed to other examples

If VVD realises that he has a contract to honour, gets down to playing at his brilliant best, as a Saints player, then I will almost entirely forgive him. For the time he remains at Southampton, that is.

The club strategy has always been the same. Increase revenue so we can spend more under FFP. As Les says, FFP is unfair but he has to work within the rules
This therefore requires patience, a rare commodity amongst football fans

and we should be optimistic because there is a long-term plan and that's what we have to work to

and that is 'real world' optimistic, because we are working to a plan

and it is hard to do, but I don't think we're doing a bad job of it at the moment

Ok. Let's do the North American way of transfers!
I know it will never happen but
VVD to Arsenal, for Giroud and Walcott!
Get rid of the prick, and we get exactly what we need!
    I can dream, right?

I like this. You are right about patience.
But you only need to look at clubs that regularly change managers which result in large changes to playing personnel and coaches . And it happens yearly and things go completely south (see: any premier league club that has been managed by Steve Bruce)

I think we need to stick with a manager. Obviously I hope MP2 works out very well, but I'd settle for ok to good rather than start again. Saints try to avoid large changes in personnel....we do keep staff on for continuity.

So who is our top wage earner, and how much are they on?
    I have no idea, btw

You're right we need a manager who iks good and will stay

But as Fran says we maintain personnel elsewhere which helps but still need above

    Maybe MoPe?

Yeah I saw somewhere that Forster is our top earner on £90k. Not sure I believe that though.

Depends who you believe. I've seen reports saying its Manolo as well. Pretty sure its VvD though.

Yeah I'd imagine all 3 will be up there and on similar wages. We still don't pay that well in comparison to other teams in the league. I'd be interested to see how many teams have at least one player on 6 figures a week, I'd guess at over half the league now

Really? Well he's been keeping that one quiet. Sorry, should have saved that one for a pun thread. Two posts, then I'm off to the bar .. it's OK I don't need a coat in this weather.
