I've found the last couple of window closings as distinctly lacking in interest ..I reckon it might be a lot more frenetic his time around and not just for HCAFC.
Favourite one i've read on their board is "Why is he leaving Burton for Hull, in my opinion it's a backward step"
Or the one saying why go to Hull when they'll finish below us!!!! FFS If we finish below Burton we'll be 24th...
one did say that jackson should be careful, it's easy to fall down the pecking order at those big clubs
the problem is still that even if by some miracle we get promoted this season we will need a practically new first eleven next season - I suppose the answer is "we'll worry about that if it happens"
My favourite ones are where someone says we are a 'big club' or that they are fighting at the bottom end of the table and we are at the top end. Opinion seems slightly split on him, on whether he is good for more than just a relegation fight, but as usual when a player leaves some of that could be negative just because he wants to go. Yes, I thought the same. Loans who may not stay and other players who probably wouldn't step up. Maybe if there was promotion (still a long long way off) we might tempt one of the better loans to stay.
As I was walking out of loftus road a father and son ( QPR ) were saying what a good a 3pts it was against prem team! People do have differing views of us I think?
as somebody who was brought up with the club being in the third and second divisions in the sixties and only got near to the first division in the early 70s it's only in the last ten years that I've seen that we are thought of as a Premier League level club - albeit near the bottom
We have been in the top tier quite a bit in the last decade. The real problem for City's image is the owners.
You're not on your own there Peter .. my dad started taking me in 69-70 .. then we had the 70-71 season under Neill when we should have reached the top flight but blew it .. thereafter followed nearly 40 yrs of tears so to hear someone refer to us as a Premier League team still fills me with pride .. even if we arent in it ! Lol
it would drive me mad but so many people in Hull would say that we lost games on purpose because we couldn't afford to compete in Division one I didnt believe but my dad would say it - he said a lot of stupid things!
Anyone recall the Oxford game? ...We'd just won at Sheff Utd on the Tuesday night in the 'battle of Bramhall Lane', only to lose at home to an Oxford team on the slide. After that we hardly won a game. Typical City. Some things just never seem to change. UPDATE....Just seen the reference above..Honest..
