Seems we may be willing to sell Gayle judging by the stories this morning, personally think he needs someone up front with him in the prem to succeed. If we replace with someone better then I guess go for it
His heads not right. He doesn't seem to have any passion to play for us. Half hearted excuses for not playing.
Would we rather Gayle, or an empty squad slot? I suspect that is the reality of the situation. Being honest, there is a severe lack of realistic and talented forwards at the moment. I feel like whoever we could afford would be a sidestep. Glad Joselu and Mitrovic have scored. That could give them the start of a bit of confidence to get to Summer. Gayle needs a goal too.
Gayle is probably the least suited to the Premier League as a lone striker than any of our strikers. If we can get better in then I'd say thank you and good luck, but time to move on to someone better.
Pretty good option to come off the bench though because the kid has loads of pace and is pretty clinical in front of goal. I think I'd like to see him stay this season.
I agree, and only think we should sell if we KNOW we are replacing him with someone better. None of this agreeing to sell him and then not managing to get his replacement over the line.
Selling Gayle burns down a bridge back to the primier league, should you suffer relegation this season.
Still seem to be suggesting we're in for Jovetic at Inter - we've allegedly bid more for him () than Sevilla but he'd prefer to go back to Spain
You could apply that theory to the Championship, due to his size and lack of braun. But his pace in the box overcame I think that he should be given a chance. Unless he wants out, in which case I'd be a bit worried about properly replacing him.
I'm not saying I want him sold. I just wouldn't be disappointed if he was sold AND a better replacement was brought in. I do doubt our ability to attract someone better though.
I don't Wana sell him, don't think we can write him off after two games. Something's definitely not right mentally, but I think mitro and Joseph scoring Saturday have already eased that burden on him. If we're getting a proven PL striker in his place then I'd begrudgingly accept
Worried about his hamstring, illness and doesnt he have a new baby too. That latter is enough to do you in!
Could probably get decent money for him from a Championship big gun (do they have any big guns now we are not down there?). Then we could sign someone a bit hopeful. And less hamstringy. Or we could fail to get someone in time and the money could mysteriously disappear into 'miscellaneous' operating costs...
