On Sportstalk on Thursday they were saying that the FA Cup was tarnished and people had interest in it. Different to the Challenge Cup where the rugby league family came together in celebration of the game, though they conceded that fans put a lot of focus on the Grand Final.
Unfortunately for that synopsis the total crowds for the FA Cup games last season, 2015/2016, were the highest since the early 1960s.

As for the novelty wearing off, as a poster wrote yesterday,Wigan won it 8 years running. The crowd for the 8th win was 500 more than for the first one. Everyone of them had a larger crowd than yesterday.

C of C is a poor excuse. Liverpool had a wonderful year long list of events when European City of Culture but it didn't affect the numbers following their football teams.

It's not a poor excuse, it simply a contributing reason and one that is economically viable.

Your continued quest to find the negative in this really is ****isness of the highest order.

As the king of the pedants you really should try proof-reading your own posts, so, at the very least they say what you intend to say. You're a smart guy, but you're really not as clever as you think you are.

I do know a true story about the boulevard. There was a similar conspiracy theory about Maurice Lindsay ? Once a big noise at the RL and a director of Wigan, I think. A friend of mine, now sadly deceased, big bruiser of a bloke and once on Fc's books as a lad saw Lindsay in the new version on the threepenny stand ( it had a few seats ).When Lindsay went to the toilet my mate followed him in and saw Lindsay go into one of the closets. He then kicked and banged on the closet door shouting at Lindsay that when comes out he's going to rip his head off. The common thought those days was that Lindsay was gay, and you couldn't be gay and be involved in RL.
Lindsay never came out for the second half, the poor bloke must have been terrified.
But it's a family sport don't you know.

Great game, fantastic result and a brilliant day out. Well done to all involved and to the fans then made the journey down.

Got to pity the usual suspects for spending their Saturday night posting on Internet forums about a sport the apparently couldn't care less about <laugh>

That wasn't the point. The post was about the notion that there is a bias against Fc by commentators etc. Not only commentators but from the very top downwards of the RL. Lindsay was hated by Fc fans, I don't why but he was.
And to answer your question, I don't know, I'm not bothered and I couldn't care less if they were all gay, what does it matter ?

The Boulevard was shut in the 1930s due to crowd violence. Wonder if the HDM said it was down to City fans?

It was a forward pass and if allowed it would have tied the match.
But please don't let facts get in the way.

Typical anti Hull bias from the BBC yesterday. The Wigan lad dropped the ball over the line, it wasn't 'STOLEN', but Mark Chapman seem to think it correct to bang on about it for ages, quoting 'numerous' messages from 'fans' complaining about the decision..Right yeah...What a knob-jockey he is and isn't it about time they put Noble and Davies out to grass.

Didn't Lindsay insist that Hull and KR had to merge as one team, but didn't suggest that any of the Lancashire teams had to, though you could throw a blanket over most of them.

Absolutely not - this season, and last season too, I've been watching Winterton Rangers matches instead of going to the KC; it's closer to home, the football's not the greatest but, it's honest, the fans are witty and the clubhouse beer's good and cheap. I'm done at the KC, it's selected aways only for me.
