Talking of Vince Groak, here was a post from an erudite poster on CI a couple of years ago when the stadium was discussed.

"Not 'everybody else', those campaigning for a 15,000 capacity stadium were Hull FC Voices and the FC fanzine 'In Any Kind of Weather'. They said at the time, when it was finally realised that it was not going to be a 15,000 stadium that if the stadium was ever going to be full for football then we better invite Leeds United to play there because Hull City will never fill it.
I believe the original plans and funding was punted at a 30,000 capacity but Trevor Brooking who was chair of Sport England persuaded the council to stick at 25,000 which was supposed to pull a grant in from Sport England, which we never got.
So it wasn't 'everybody else' at all".

Vince Groak wax involved with Hull FC Voices, as was our old friend Jim Gardner who came out with the same nonsense as Groak, one of them confidently predicting the KC would never be full and would be a white elephant. The HDM gave the pair of them a lot of opportunities to spou their garbage. The recentky deceased Cllr Trevor Larsen oublished a goodvarticle on the HDM's duplicitious negativecways regardingbthe KC project. Vince Groak also edited Any Kind Of Weather. Obadiah refers to the campaign for a 15,000 stadium in the same thread.
But he said on RH that we wanted 20,000. And Lambo believed him. And if Lambo thinks something is so then that is that...

If you're a little bit fragile refrain from indulging in chat from a mans game.

I am sure Wilby and Eastwood liked being involved in a man's game.

    True story.
I used to work with the assistant physio and he told me Wilby was openly gay to all the lads. He used to chase Eastwood round the changing room whipping him with his towel. Giving himthe come on you know you want it..

I am sure the Rovers board is inundated with their fans deliriously happy with the success of a Hull team.

You aren't from Hull, are you? You surely can't be.You haven't been in a pub in Hull full of Hull people celebrating when Liverpool, Man Utd or TWS score against a team from Hull? Most of them people who profess how proud they are to support their local rugby league team and would have a nervous breakdown at the thought of someone from Hull supporting a rugby team from elsewhere.

    Th
That's Leeds United by the way.
Don't act like it's all tough and in vogue to not mention the name.
    And yes I don't like them. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I used to live in Hull for a time before heading back to civilisation.. And first saw FC games when you were still in your nappies, 1968.. Though that could be fairly recently judging by some of your posts.
Happy doesn't live in Hull, the occasional Hull person cuts their mother's apron strings, but I think Chazz does.

That is the standard way of referring to them. The way a lot of us around npmy way have referred to them for years .And the way I refer to them with a fan of theirs I was having a pint with last night who has done time more than once for Leeds United related incidents who could rip my head off if he wanted to. Though he is a proper football fan who goes to the odd City game when Leeds aren't playing.
I kept looking at my phone last night and he asked me why. I said I was keeping an eye on City's score. He said he didn't realise they were playing as it wasn't the Friday night televised game. I said it was to avoid the clash with FC's game. He didn't know why there was a clash.Only one person at the bar was aware of what the clash was. And he is an ex union player, and a very good one, who now coaches a junior RL side.

That's ****ing funny. Also I think that's outside the Premier Inn next to the station, had a few pints in there after 2008 and 2014 Wembley visits.

It is expensive and in competition with a wonderful year long list of events for CoC; then there is the excellent coverage by the BBC. Wembley is a big venue to fill, but it should stay there.

I enjoyed the coverage and laughed at their bias, it made victory sweeter still.

Wasn't this bias thing also said about Eddie Waring at one time? I seem to remember an FC supporter telling me that Eddie had been warned to keep away from the Boulevard for his own safety.

So Hull FC fans have always been violent and have a persecution complex?
