This is my thinking as well - said it above that it won't stop me supporting the lads, but the likes of Phil Jones, Jake Livermore, Lingard and others are just not good enough IMO.
I'd like to know why Defoe is getting picked personally - how many goals does he have this calendar year? It's not many - he was pretty rubbish for the last 4 months of our season (2 goals since February I believe and one of those was for England!!) I loved the bloke when he was here - but when he was on top form for us he never got a look in for England - and now he's not exactly scoring freely, he's getting picked?
Get out did you - you couldn't wait to have a dig at the guy at every given chance. He's the reason we weren't relegated 2 seasons ago man!!
I did love him and what he did for us. Do you think he's been good since February? Don't use the "no service" rubbish as he had the same service for the rest of the season. I had a dig when I thought he deserved. I do that with all players though (except maybe Cattermole where I admit my blindness) Why does him keeping us up 2 seasons ago have any bearing on an England call up?
