    I made my selections on Friday afternoon, come on here on Saturday and find that several people have three or four the same as me, so no real chance of winning the competition given my 144 point handicap deficit!

    No idea what Alex Hammond is going to hex because the Sky Sports site is still playing yesterday’s tip. I have the added jinx that SportingLife.com’s Ben Linfoot has tipped my Ebor horse; but it has the additional handicap (for win purposes) of a single figure draw. In his column, Richard Fahey describes Sands Of Mali as “an interesting runner”, so I think I can forget that one too! Got to nap the longest-priced one in the hope of doubling the points:

    Thanks for running this, Ron. Next time, let your grandson make your picks so you go into the last day above me! Good news for me is that the only one I have had cash on at York this week won, so a rare Ebor meeting victory over the old enemy beckons...

    Well, I napped the one that was the biggest price this morning (Natural Scenery 16/1) and never even had a penny on the one that ended up the biggest price (Sands Of Mali 14/1), so I deserve not to win the competition and to end up losing money betting anywhere but York. :emoticon-0101-sadsm
