Destroyed by Monk... It was Monk that reinstalled the Swansea way after the way Laudcrap ruined it and nearly relegated us with his boring way of playing.....You should be thanking Monk not blaming him. He saved our premiership status and went on to give us our best ever season in the premiership the following season...Never to be repeated by the looks of it....
Get out of it Dai, the Swansea way vanished after Laudrup and we've never got it back. I'm hoping Clement can bring it back!!
Clement was brought here to firefight, (ie save us from relegation) and so was Guidolin. Probably the last manager that was brought here to play "The Swansea Way" was Michael Laudrup. Given our abysmal lack of activity in the transfer market it looks as though Clement will have to firefight all season. In normal circumstances I reckon he would have walked by now, but I feel he's desperate to establish himself as a manager and is thus "putting up" with the clowns that run our club. The result is that we don't play a brand of football any more and as you say, our identity has gone. We are now a Club being run on the cheap purely to bring in £100million quid a year. We're a cash cow - and we're being milked. In amongst that, Clement is trying to operate with dignity, but I'm not sure how long he'll be able to do that without proper backing and support from the Board.
I agree. With the right financial backing, I think he'd become our best manager in the PL. Again I agree, our strength was our philosophy, togetherness and everyone fighting for each other. At the moment, I see our side as a team with individuals (with some of them being selfish in certain positions of the pitch when others are in better positions) or in some cases, lacking spirit and fight. Also, I look at our defence now, is it better than the defence in our first season? Our midfield was better in our first season in the PL (because of a better balance/mix of player/attitude) and Graham (at the moment) was better than Abraham. The only position we are, maybe currently stronger in is Fabianski in goal.
I'd have walked tbh. Look at WHU struggling at the moment, you'd think Clement would be high up the replacement list after what he done last season. His stock, potentially, will never be higher than it currently is and would have clubs falling over to get him in 2-3 months time when they start struggling. The Americans will happily pull the trigger and make him the fall guy in all of this.
Ha, ha. Dai has changed his story yet again. Now it's Laudrup "nearly relegated us" as against him "already having relegated us". If you are going to change stories you need to have a good memory. Monk may have secured the highest P.L. finish, but Laudrup was a far more successful Manager, as the history books will confirm. Just suck it up, Dai.
Those with selective memory.....Monk has been the best manager we have had these past ten years....He totally changed the way we were playing under that misfit Laudcrap and showed how to play the Swansea way....It was a pleasure to get back to playing how we use too and it produced results that sent us up to safety....
Where is this bloke Laudcrap the man that wanted to manage a big club He has disappeared not wanted by anyone...
Over the last 10 years, Martinez has the best win percentage, followed by Rodgers, then Clement, then Sousa, then Monk......
Prove it ....he was sacked .....Why was he Sacked and why could he not get another club other than insignificant football teams....I can prove it you are just deluded of the facts....
Wrong ...Monk has been the most successful in a short time as far as taking the club to the highest level and the most points total.....check your facts before posting...
More drivel from the arch driveler. Laudrup is a very successful business man, and presumably doesn't depend on being a Manager of any football Club to make ends meet. He probably hasn't yet spent all the money Jenkins had to pay him for dismissing him. Monk, on the other, has NOTHING else to do with his life. Trying to compare Monk with Laudrup is so ludicrous, it is breathtaking in it's absurdity.
Dai - I only deal in facts! Win % is as I have outlined above. One consolation for you is that Monk's win percentage is higher than Laudrup's....
