aidy ward is quite happy to do just that.

I do doubt his 180k per week contract rejection. i dont think he got offered near that.

lol i'm pretty sure you said something about one of them being here soon. Maybe Keita. Or maybe you mentioned a bid was going out. Either way you made it sound like 1 of them was a done deal (not as bad as jimbo whos changing his sig)

    Klopp says players could leave
15:52: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists anything is possible in the last week of the transfer window, even outgoings.

"Until August 31st, a lot of things are really possible, in and out. If the transfer window closed tomorrow I'm happy with it."

    Coutinho mood low
14.00: Philippe Coutinho still hopes to seal a move to Barcelona this summer, according to Sky Sports presenter Kaveh Solhekol.

Coutinho handed in a transfer request two weeks ago following a £90m bid from Barcelona.

Liverpool have maintained their stance that he will not be sold and are set to reject the fourth bid of £138m.

And Barcelona have now moved on to seal the Ousmane Dembele deal and he is expected to be announced as a Barcelona player this weekend.

But Coutinho hopes that that isn’t the end of his dream to play for the club this season.

“Coutinho hoping Barcelona signing Dembele doesn't mean they're giving up on him,” Solhekol tweeted today.

    dembele to barca done.

can i suggest (not as a mod or anything just as a fellow fan) that we ignore all coutinho talk now. Barca cannot afford a club record price for dembele and coutinho.... even if they are done on the never never.

they need to pay messi 600k a week to keep him as his contract is running down.

IMO lets not even bother with the chat... this one imo is done until a real offer is made. everything else is just sniping by barca.

Unlikely they will get Coutinho now... Yes...

However you can't rule out player + cash swaps. We probably won't accept, but can't put it past them trying.

Fat chance! The rags won't let it lie until it is not possible and the fans have to pick through the BS and make their own mind up. Ridiculous situation.

Do we know what the terms of the Dembele deal was? I would not put it past Barca to be able to afford Couthino still. They just have to finance it differently and of course they can afford it.

Logic says whatever they offer cannot be a huge improvement on what they offered before. They have 4/5 unused players they can sell or throw at us but thats not much good to us. IMO theres no way that 80mil over 5 years offer can be upped unless dortmund have accepted a ridiculous deal where their 100mil is over 5 years.

Barca this summer thus far: 182 spent. 226mil euro in. 40 odd left. They haven't the money to pay us and Messi a huge signing on fee and 500k per week

Not if we just largely ignore it til a real offer comes.

I can predict exactly which twitter feeds will tell us when said real bid happens should it happen.

    My view is

Friday = nothing to write about fill with guff.
Saturday = Pre match presser info, match build up.
Sunday = match reports, pretty talk... traditional big scoop story's for rags.
Monday= Brazil lads fly off. Match reports are written for Sunday. Full bore rumour mongering
Tuesday = at worst coutinho is off leash and speaks out. Stories about Barca medical staff in Brazil doing medical.
    Wednesday = deadline day

So seriously. If barca were really in they would be offering some bid to avoid the player bring on wrong continent when the desl is done. Its now imo too late for that.

So why bother with it til Tuesday. That's most likely day we wake up to headlines screaming about coutinho saying how badly he has been treated.

    Barca:

    in
    Ousmane Dembélé 105,00 Mill. €
    Paulinho 40,00 Mill. €
    Nélson Semedo 30,50 Mill. €
    Gerard Deulofeu 12,00 Mill. €
    Marlon 5,00 Mill. €

    out
    Neymar 222,00 Mill. €
    Cristian Tello 4,00 Mill. €

so they have in fact largely spent the neymar money. they should have 43.5mil euros on hand left plus whatever they had at start of window....

BUT they also need to give messi a new deal with only 12months to go on a 400k per week contract..... that will cost them a huge singing fee play 500k per week to match neymar min.....

This all ASSUMES 105mil was upfront. I doubt it given thier antics with us.

Maybe barca can shovel 80mil all at once at us with other add ons/ installments but i REALLY don't think we will accept it with 3 days left.

    LEts see.

you tell me lads... can they afford 10mil whatevers up front?

its 0.92 euro to pound so 100mi euros is 92million real money. yeah? so if we demanded 100mil up front that 110mil euros and they don't imo have it

Their normal budget (without Neymar) must have been between £50 and £100m. So must have money left to spend imo. It's not necessarily over but it won't be very easy for them because of all the points that you point out.

yeah but there is the messi factor and how much they have to hold to pay neymar in <laugh> loyalty bonuses too.. Who knows.

The general consensus i'e seen is barca have not got the beans to put the two fees in.

They'll get the money if they need it. As a business they are hardly leveraged. They can afford it. The biggest obstacle to them is not the money imo, it's that we cannot find a suitable replacement (yet). I would not be at all surprised if we see 2 or 3 players coming on and him going out in the last couple of days, nor would I be surprised if nothing happens.

If you mean he was in the same team with Torres and Suarez you would be correct but he wasn't the 'star' - how many kids cried when he went to America? [btw star status I'm talking about and as mito's explained isn't necessarily the best player e.g. Mane for me is our best player].
