Maintaining eye contact engenders openness and trust. People are more likely to trust someone and feel close to someone that maintains eye contact. It is different to staring at someone. If you're staring at their breasts whilst asking she will feel less comfortable.

Why don't you sue Carling, sort of PPI style, alleging you only bought their product because you thought it was 4% proof. As it is only 3.7% you had to expend a larger sum to get as pissed as you wanted

I find it odd that it's automatically assumed that it's not a good night unless you're steaming. Getting pleasantly drunk is great, but taking it too far spoils everything as far as I'm concerned. I drink to get drunk, of course - but the major factor in choice of drink is taste more than alcohol content. Of course Carling scores pretty low in that area as well.
