So what if we are worse off for a few years, OMG people suddenly care about the less well off post Brexit, amazing.
It is the 'wealth' of the country that pays for our healthcare, libraries, schools, youth clubs, social care etc. It is those things which are important to me. i have been using my experience as a current example. If the country has less wealth because of leaving the EU... then there is even less to spend on these important services. And you will remember the battle bus saying how much more there would be to spend on the NHS if we left.. .well that will clearly not be possible As for the selfish and greed point.... means nothing to me.. as Farage with his pint of beer and *** was no role model for a more caring post-brexit society. Ideology has driven this hcange and I am not at all reassured what tangible benefits there will be.. Please if you know some do tell me...
More jobs for the poor.... myth ... the jobs are there... and we NEED overseas workers.. .and always have done
Did they, well i never, so i assume some one has spoken to all those 6 million....pie in the sky, because if they did, then they missed me off their list, maybe they read not606 for my view so knew not to include it.
Sorry but I have worked in health (NHS) and education for my entire career apart from a year running a development programme in a third world country.
There were polls taken... many people were convinced that we would be so much better off.... and that is the one argument more than any that has deceived people
Isn't it funny, before brexit we had lazy brits, benefit scroungers etc etc....Post brexit we use the terms poor people and low income and amazingly everyone suddenly cares, especially if they voted to remain. Amazingly I didn't hear anyone shouting in 2011 not to reduce the tax and give the extra 5% to the NHS, when it had already started it's decline or to get homelessness off our streets, but post brexit everyone cares.
and not to forget a lot of those that voted remain thought they were going to lose their passport to go on holiday, you really couldn't make it up
I get why superhorns suggested why some people have left this thread, it appears there is no balance in debate it is all about me, me, me, me, me. I bid you all good day Don't forget to drop some silver or brass to the homeless guy when you next pass, maybe even ask him or her their name, have a sit down and chat to them, you might actually learn something.
I don't agree that is about me me me??? and .. worth saying to your point above.. .that i have voted for parties that pledge to spend more on health and social care and education my entire voting life.... I have never voted Tory as I see them as all about me me me...
Two points. It is borrowed money that has been paying for all the services you list, somehow we need to stop spending more than we earn and then concentrate on paying back this huge debt, unless you advocate passing it on to future generations. Secondly the Brexit bus never said how much would be spent on the NHS. It just gave a figure we currently send to the EU and sensibly suggested there would be more cash to give the NHS. If people conveniently misread it that is their problem. To enable a government to spend on services it is required to run the country in a fiscally sensible fashion. Nobody should forget the Labour Government Minister's note saying 'all the money had gone'. Classic.
I don't spend more than i earn.... so i agree.... and I also know we need to spend to grow... and then invest the money according to our values. The brexit bus issue.... well you can put that nuance on it... but millions didn't.... On the money issue...isn't this govt still printing money and putting that in the economy?.. .and don't we have a bigger debt than ever under this govt??
Superhorns I've been searching for 6 million Brexit voting suckers. I didn't vote Brexit because of the said NHS £350 million, did you? And a second question have you ever taken part in a poll that has asked you that question? Those 6 million suckers must be out there somewhere, because everything these guys post on here is factually true
The borrowing continues and the debt grows because we did not have proper austerity, we had a token slight reduction in the INCREASE in spending. At the last election Corbyn and McDonnell promised to borrow and spend hundreds of billions of extra borrowing on uncosted projects in their desperation to be elected, thankfully for the good of the country, it failed to fool enough people.
Don't be too hard on these guys, they seem a timid lot, a bit frightened of their own shadows. Thankfully the UK is full of entrepreneurs with a 'can do' spirit with a pragmatic and flexible workforce, we'll be alright.
If you think our debt mountain is bad take a look at the attached. Three of the Five countries in the world with the highest debt to GDP ratio are in the Euro area, shocking. Five Countries with the Highest Debt-to-GDP Ratios | Nomad Capitalist
Still scratching Well I never took part in the poll, nor did Superhorns, so I'm guessing you just forgot to mention your participation in it
