I think you've misunderstood my point. mito has already answered along the lines I would have if I was talking about our top players. imo 'star' players didn't used to exist. The players you mention quite rightly are all some of our best players. Our first 'star' was Torres [this is also why Alonso and Masch don't fit as they were in the same team with him and that team had one 'star']. Suarez was the second and Coutinho is it currently. It's a relatively new phenomenon. The acid test is, did little kids cry when McManaman, Masch .... left? No. I remember when Torres left someone on the old 606 saying his youngster was heartbroken and wouldn't go to school, similarly with Suarez and atm we've got youngsters holding up cardboard signs asking Coutinho not to go.
I would sort of agree with this. Fowler was just before to this .... a evolutionary precursor perhaps. He was god and leaving was a disappoint met to many. Perhaps keegen in the 1970s or rush in the 1980s... or souness in the 1980s prove that one guy heading off on a new adventure is actually no big deal when a club is well run and has foresight. Torres I agree was the first social media era mega star at lfc and the girls and kids went Ga ga over him. The issue here is two fold 1. Social media era softies crying over their world ending. 2. The club is not well run and succession planning is beyond us as we don't have a top first 11. Look at spurs. Walker goes. They are laughing cos two guys are ready to step in. But if kane went they would implode. Look at chelsea. Hold costa and buy morata. It's not easy to be planning for all positions and finding a player like coutinho is not easy. One might say actually we have replaced the lw coutinho but our issue is we were planning on a no 8 coutinho and have no replacement as Keita bids were turned down and lallana is injured. My view is he can go if Barca make a real offer. They ha e not done so. Lfc needed yo do more in this window anyway and have thus far spectacularly failed to strengthen coutinho or no... which is sad given how competitive the league is.
Marseille want Origi 09:00: Marseille are considering a swoop for Liverpool forward Divock Origi, reports claim. It’s believed Origi, 22, is fearful of losing his place in Belgium’s World Cup squad having been reduced to a bit-part player at Anfield. And he’s seriously considering his options. According to Marseille Mercato, Origi is firmly on the Ligue 1 club’s radar with a bid worth £13.8million expected in the coming days.
I agree with all of this. If we're talking about kids crying - I still haven't got over Roger Hunt going to Bolton
Sky Sports still clinging onto their hopes that Couthinho will leave. 12:52 COUTINHO STILL WANTS BARCA MOVE Philippe Coutinho is hoping Barcelona signing Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund does not mean they have given up on signing him. The Brazilian's position has not changed – he still wants to leaveLiverpool and sign for Barca. We are told his “mood is very low at the moment”. Jurgen Klopp says Coutinho won’t play against Arsenal on Sunday because he is still injured (back). Ballbag is obviously still feeding them bullshit.
Klopp's just said Coutinho may be off to Brazil as they are entitled to give him a medical themselves but atm he hasn't yet spoken to the Brazilian FA.
Was it not well time for the lad to leave though.... just saying... its not like he left for better things did he? he got 2/3 good years for himself at Bolton and we had toshack. On a similar note: is this the time around when Shanks made the error of leaving too many old lads together and went 7 years without a league title or so? Shanks made that mistake once.. bob paisley learned it well. Dalglish repeated it.
basically imo this is him saying well yeah you lot do know its all a fake like... of course he can go to brazil squad cos once he's in SA he will tell the world how nasty i am Klopp is basically saying the guy isn't injured, not sick and never was.
I think there's nothing wrong with him except Barcalitus, he'll be available for Brazil's next WC qualifier against Ecuador next week.
We would... pretty handy imo. If his contract has the time i'd loan him to one and let him make himself a 50mil player. lets face it any ould dog is worth 45 mil these days
