The difference in force between MMA mitts and boxing gloves is negligible.

The mitts would only really favour McGregor in a grapple, which is obviously not gonna happen.

The odds are ludicrous. If you've got spare £300k, surely you'll never get a better 1/3 shot than Mayweather. As Frankie Boyle said, let's see if a non-boxer can beat the world's best boxer at boxing.

McGregor has a punchers chance only. Otherwise, after the initial onslaught that McGregor is bound to try, Mayweather will cut him to pieces.

Mayweather will in. Still think it's a farce that this will give him 50.

It shouldn't count on his record as he'd have a tougher fight with Sooty.

Yeah people keep telling me how mcgregor got a big punch but it doesn't matter if you can't ****ing hit the guy! <laugh>

He's got a chance of course but the odds aren't anywhere near an accurate reflection imo.

Mcgregor leaves himself open to the punch so that he can land his, Mayweather needs to resist that urge.

I said to a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago, If Connor McGregor beats Floyd Mayweather, It'll be like Leicester winning the league in my opinion.

If McGregor had no MMA history, he'd be coming in as a 150/1 outsider, there'd be fingers pointed at the boxing authorities saying how dangerous this is for an amateur to be going in with arguably the greatest p4p fighter of all time.

His MMA combat skills count for something obviously.

I hope he bangs Floyd into next week, but I'm prepared to watch a very one sided fight.

Sums it up for me. I really want him to win but can't see it.

As I said I do think it's a bit of a farce, but I'll probably watch it just in case the 'impossible' happens.

Its laughable really, even Lennox Lewis called it a farce. It's clearly one last payday for Moneywheather and his found the perfect Patsy.

If it was in the Octagon (despite what some nuggets on here think) Mayweather could leave in a coma.

The rules will protect McGregor from a serious beating in boxing and he'll be happy to sustain welterweight shots for as long as the ref sees fit, in exchange for $100m.

Mayweather will embarrass the gobshite. This isn't a serious boxing match, it's a circus side show.

Macgregor will try and land a haymaker, and Mayweather will just dance around him smashing him with counter punches

He'll become increasingly frustrated and will get wilder as the fight goes on, anyone having a points victory will be disappointed imo, as Mayweather will end up sitting him on his arse
