Really demonstrates how you view the vast majority of ordinary people who trust in their govt.

Not much different from Farage admitting moving his money around to benefit from the markets... only those with a lot can do that...

And which was the first country to allow unfettered movement from Rumania and Bulgaria whilst all others wanted a transitional approach ? Maybe this fact explains a certain lack of sympathy with Britain's moans now. Macron appears to be suggesting that there should be more controls ensuring that migrant workers get the same wages and conditions as local workers - which I agree with absolutely.

Personally I don't believe fruit is cheap, the big supermarket rip off and their insistence on prepackaging, I'm surprised considering the government views on plastic carriers that the politicians have not jumped all over this one like a bad rash. So all the mechanical stuff to aid production has not kept the cost down, I'd even be cheeky enough to say it's cheaper to buy meat than fruit to a degree! I would somewhat agree with veg but that has only been since some of the German discount chains have come on to the scene. In fact things have got so bad that even seasonal fruit is overlooked for imported fruit by the big chains and just in my opinion is a bloody national disgrace. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone regarding this other than saying the cost could not be much worse. The cheap labour and mechanical means has not aided consumer or farmer, the only people profiting from that imo is the likes of Mr Sainsbury's & Co. I think it's an insult to our Country to see whole fields of fruit go to waste. I think we need less choice (imported) and where possible buy British, certainly in season stuff.

I was describing the daft people that are too lazy or too stupid to exchange their money sensibly. Farage and Macron were both financial brokers, the only difference is Farage has much more political experience and the Macron boy has a wife his mum's age.

What difference does the age of his wife have to do with anything - you're not the appointed judge of his private life.

The fact is that the pound has dropped and even with the best deals which i always get it has fallen so many percentage points.... as a direct result of the Brexit vote.......

This is not a thread about the French President. Can we get it back on topic please.

The French President's strength, or lack of it, is entirely relevant to Brexit matters. His performance over the likely chaos in France over the next few weeks will have a bearing on negotiations. The same with Merkel.

The UK government is not talking to France or Germany but the EU. It is off topic, so please stop trying to divert attention from the real debate.

Personally I don't look at France, I don't see them as a threat to the EU, especially after the last elections. I think attentions should be more on Italy, to me they are the biggest threat and one that could be the final nail in the coffin. I think Italy could cause more damage to the EU than Britain ever can alone. There is a lot of disquiet in Italy and quoting a few words that made me laugh aimed at the Italians, Italy is a complete basket case economically.

France and especially Germany have a major input on the negotiations. Their leaders are very much part of the Brexit negotiations. I realise you have a need to highlight any problems with the UK and try to hide the obvious failings with your adopted country. The comparisons are real and relevant, you only want to discuss when in your favour. Desperate stuff.

Although Italy has a high degree of eurosceptics the level is still less than in France. In fact France's level of dissatisfaction has consistently been higher than the UK.

I will say that since joining the discussions on the thread, I do tend to see a lot of anti British stuff, yeah you can blame Brexit but it is still very anti British and i think this is one of my major concerns with the EU, it tries to erode identity and cultures in favour of the EU way. Ok let's be up front, Brexit never was going to be perfect and I said all along there would be some hardships to pay, but to continuously find fault in everything and not find no balance in debate in favour will never lead to agreement on anything other than a thread that goes round in circles. Life is not perfect, never has been, never will be, but before June 2016 you can't blame Brexit and the UK was far from a perfect place then. Since the vote I have not seen anything that has affected me economically or in any other way. Yeah I know that drum it's still all to come and Brexit will be to blame for everything for EVER.

In fairness of balance it is not what was proved at the French polls, to say that would be the same as giving a reverse argument to the remainers.

Whereas Italy is a completely different unknown.
