Is this one of the most average squads we've ever seen? For those bothered: England squad to face Malta and Slovakia Goalkeepers Jack Butland (Stoke City), Joe Hart (West Ham United, on loan from Manchester City), Tom Heaton (Burnley) and Jordan Pickford (Everton). Defenders Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Michael Keane (Everton), Harry Maguire (Leicester City), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur) and Kyle Walker (Manchester City). Midfielders Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Chalobah (Watford), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Jake Livermore (West Bromwich Albion), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal) and Raheem Sterling (Manchester City). Forwards Jermain Defoe (AFC Bournemouth), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) and Danny Welbeck (Arsenal).
I don't get the criticism at all. There's a good young squad of players in there. But no, let's just shoot them down before they get out there. That's what we do best.
There are. Just like most international squads. But we've gotta give them a chance. For these kids, they've been picked for the national squad. How ****ing cool is that!! How proud must their families be? But then just to be shot down by the fans and the press! What the **** is wrong in getting behind a young squad, desperate to play for their country? I know I'm a hopeless romantic, but dear god, give the kids a chance.
Not sure if you're aiming this directly at me or the wider football fans but I've never once said I wasn't going to back them. I'll still watch the games hoping the lads win - it's good to see two of our academy products in the full squad and hope to see them starting for England very soon. There's also nothing wrong with having an opinion about it either.
I started replying to your point mate and then went off on one. My apologies Giacc, no offence intended.
You've got to be a bit bonkers to be able to switch from thread to thread. From safc, to rape, to england, to general chat.
Not doing too badly after a few beers tonight. Keeping up alright. Was supposed to be in the gym tonight but hey ho!
No snacks. Just Guinness. Not losing the weight I intended for my daughters wedding. But still trimmer!
