Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshi bertrand Romeu Lemina JWP Boufal Long Gabbiadini Not written boufal off yet- play him in the middle around gabbiadini. We can switch to 4-4-2 and play long alongside gabbiadini if need be. Shouldn't be scared of the terriers, with romeu and lemina together we should have more freedom to attack than last year (1 CDM in the PL?!).
I am not sure what it is but I can't stop thinking Pellegrino is massively out of his depth! There - I have said it. He just doesnt' look right to me.
I think Pellegrino has the pedigree, but is finding his way round SFC and the EPL. He needs time....time we didn't give Claude. He will probably get it because the club doesn't want to be looking for a new manager and he is personable enough for the fans. It is the VVD issue where he is walking a line....he made the decision to keep Virgil away from the team (and I do believe that was his decision), but the rest has nothing to do with him.
I think the fault may not lie with Mauricio....I think it is dawning on him that he is a few stars short of a team and he has to try things....and sometimes they don't come off.
Forster Soares Stephens Hoedt Bertrand Romeu Lemina Tadic Davis Redmond Gabbiadini Subs; McCarthy Yoshida McQueen Hojbjerg JWP Boufal Austin.
Maybe Mauricio. Is going to try gradually increasing the number of CB's in the back line until he finds the winning formula. Alfie Jones will be in there soon, you wait!
I know Stephens is performing well but I do think Yoshi's significantly better so if anyone gives way for Hoedt, it shouldn't be Maya. Maybe as the season goes on and results allow people to relax a little but this is an early-season winnable away game and not the time for experimentation. Vin
Aside from the assist redmond was anonymous against wet spam. Tadic just hasn't been on form. I don't think tadic and boufal work, need more workman-like players alongside them. Long just seems to bother defences, maybe he can create the space gabbi needs to run into? Not the team I expect, just throwing out ideas.
Surely we have to start the team which beat West Ham? We looked pretty good until we got complacent? Will Hoedt come straight in? If so he plays on the left, so you would actually think Yoshi would make way? Questions only? Full stop broken?
