Finally.... Hull City @HullCity We are delighted to confirm the signing of Jon Toral from @Arsenal #WelcomeJon please log in to view this image
Thought all non-English signings needed some form of clearance? I thought I remember even Robbo needing it. It's done anyway.
Would love it if he stayed on one condition That's broke a few heart on Derby co forums, several thought the move had broke down .
It's a three year deal with the option of a fourth fee undisclosed (but it's £3m, with an additional £1m in add-ons).
The Tigers have signed midfielder Jon Toral from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee. 22-year-old Toral joins on a three-year deal which includes the option to add a further year. Born in Reus, Spain, Toral’s career began with the Barcelona Academy before he was signed by Arsenal in 2011. Since joining the Gunners, he has enjoyed loan spells with Brentford, Grenada, Glasgow Rangers and most notably Birmingham City, where he won the Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards in 2015/16. Speaking after signing for the Tigers, Toral said: “This is a massive move for me, the biggest so far in my career, and I can’t wait to get started. “I’m really happy to be here. I have experienced playing in the Championship before and it is a league that I enjoyed playing in. I want to use that experience now and to help this team achieve its aims.” Toral will wear the number 11 shirt and is available for selection for Friday night's game against Bolton Wanderers.
There's a transfer of registration between associations of the player is transferring from a club in a different league, not the same thing as international clearance.
Ah ok, must have been mistaken. Still strange his paperwork took longer than Kingsley's, but no harm done now.
I was thinking exactly the same, three year deals don't seem to fit into the Ehab ethos. Does that mean that there's third party/potential new owner input?
I've no idea if he is any good , but if he is as good as other fans say then that could be a bargain , 3 million is peanuts in the current market
There seems to be a lot on social media say we are close to sign Will Grigg, if true, can't say I am excited at that prospect.
