Leaves us very light at the back though for those 6 to 8 weeks and to be fair to bartley he was starting to show what I thought we had bought 4 years ago. As I said we are 1 injury or red from having to regularly play VDH. rating from his last game and to be fair this could be written for every game I have seen him play. Mike van der Hoorn 6 Did not look as comfortable as his centre-half partner, and was rolled very easily at one point in the first half. But had a solid enough evening on his first appearance of the season. This is against L1 opposition, not exactly marking Aguero, Moratta or the many other quality CF in the PL.
VDH is crap full stop. He's no more than a mid championship defender, at best. Hopefully we have another CB lined up. We should have sold both him and Amat this summer. Add that to the baffling decision to sell Kingsley and I'm stumped.
I cant see us signing anyone although I would have done this earlier in the season and as Valley said shipped out VDH, now we could be in the position of having to play him, what a terrible thought that is.

Certainly is Valley and PC seems to think its all going to be OK because Joe Rodon can step up from the U23's
I actually don't mind VDH Breezie, I just think we're wafer thin in too many key positions. What happens if Mawson, Fernandez or VDH pick up a knock and Olsson goes down too. Doesnt matter who we buy up front, we're still fcuked
the 3 CB defence against Man U was a one off . So for a few months we have 3 CBs for 2 positions ... nothing to out of the ordinary . And Clucas can cover at LB , as can Naughton if need be , especially if Arias walks through the door .
VDH is a championship player at best and if we rely on him at the back, we are in big trouble, people go on about no cover at RB well since Bartley's injury we got even less cover at CB, Rangel is adequate cover if needed (still would prefer naughton to be the cover and sign a starter) VDH would not get anywhere near any other Pl side, it is the ultimate nightmare if we lose Mawson or Fernandez now. VDH is slow, turning circle of the qe2, poor reader of the game, poor passer on a positive side he wins a few headers. Please no injuries or we are ****ed.
Two poor teams, could it be a boring draw? If there is going to be a win, then it will be the home side, our defence has still not been sorted, and I'm afraid Palace will be rightly targeting this as a 3 point banker, so I'm going for a 2-1 home win for Palace, we always help out the struggling clubs............
