When did I say he played in the Champions League? He won't be playing in the Champions League for a long time. Just because Carroll does not score at the highest level, unlike Nasri, means his goals should be taken off him. Nasri - 14 goals Carroll - 11 goals You were wrong. Have some egg for your face
By the way, if I heard correctly, Carroll has scored 34 career goals (including the Championship), has made 1 appearance for an awful English national team, has played about 6 months of PL football, has an injury that Newcastle could not put a time frame on him returning from, and despite all that, you dished out ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã35M on him. What an absolute disgrace your club is, no wonder Torres wanted out.
Haters..... ya we lost Torres but we have two solid options and look to be good foil for each other. When that English quota kicks in, we will be miles ahead of other teams in the top 6-7 I guess you could say now. I won't let WUM's ruin what has been an exciting day and we will see a much improved attack on Wednesday with El Sulk now gone..... but my what the almighty dollar has done to football!
Why are we suddenly bombarded with Arsenal fans and others telling us what they think of our new players? We didn't have a whip round this forum for the 35m, so I don't see where these personal attacks are coming from. And how are the club a 'disgrace' for arguably overspending on a player? Just when did that become an issue? And if it is an issue, and made Torres leave like you suggest, why would he go to an equally disgraceful (by your logic) team who are overspending on him?
I love it - skewing the statistics to forfil your own agenda, Not going by league goals only is ajoke. Like i've said before. statistics in football should be used the same way a drunk uses a lamp post. For support, Not illumination
I think it’s so sad to see the Arse’s having the nerve to criticise anyone’s transfer policy when they support the tightest club in the EPL. The fact is that Liverpool has got rid of a player who evidently didn’t want to be at Anfield and replaced him with 2 younger players who are hungry to pull on the red shirt, all for the net outlay of ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã7.8 million – it’s hardly bad business. Under the stewardship of Kenny Daglish, Carroll could and should become one of the most revered Liverpool number 9’s in the clubs history and if he ultimately fires Liverpool to the title within the next 5 ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâý years, I doubt there would be one Liverpool fan moaning about how much they have paid for him.
Arsenal fans are just upset because they don't know what it's like to buy a player that people have heard of
If you heard correctly? You didn't have a quick look to find the numbers, then? Just come on blustering about what you heard? Torres at 21: 20 in 49 Carroll at 21: 19 in 42 Torres at 22: 13 in 40 Carroll at 22: 11 in 20 We dished out ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã25m and the ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã10m we got for free by not taking Anelka. What a total and utter disgrace! Spending all that money Torres wanted to see us spend. No wonder he wanted out. I bet you miss that old refrain about FSG being just like Hicks and Gillett, huh? Got any buyers for that old crock of shyte yet?
Carroll aint the worst striker, but he has more experience fighting than he does playing football in the premier league.... 35 million is a lot to pay for a player who could be a star striker.... Basically, Liverpool have swapped a proven player (Torres) for 2 unproven (in the premier league) players. Eve Suarez is a risk, just look at Afonso Alves (1:1 goals to game ratio in holland, but couldnt make it at 'Boro).
Ronaldo's goals per season at Utd: 6, 9, 12, 23, 42, 26 Took a while to get used to the PL, then. Ah, but he was a winger, right? OK, Kuyt's first PL seasons: 14, 11, 15 and 11 last season. Better start than Ronaldo and he's not even a proper winger. You never can tell who's going to adapt and when. The best you can do is give them time to develop. At 23 I think we have time with Suarez.
When Liverpool spent out for Torres he was unproven, I think sometimes you need to take the risk. Liverpool fans are warey of the price tag attached to Carroll but its out of our control and we will support him and hope that he can prove his worth. Suarez, is again unproven and is from a league which is hit & miss when it comes to premeir league players. from looking at him he has all the makings of being a hit but only time will tell
As a Newcastle fan who has watched pretty much every game that Carroll has played, in full, I would put money on him being amongst the top scorers in the league for many years to come, assuming Liverpool get some wingers... Gutted he's gone, even for such a large sum of money. He is the real deal, a proper English centre-forward. Simply unstoppable in the air. No wonder Arsenal fans are jealous, he would have been a superb signing for them - with the service and crosses they would be putting in, he'd be a 30+ goals a season striker easy
They signed Andy Carroll. 11 goals in 19 games, many of those not even playing the full 90 minutes. I reckon they'll be ok this season...
Thats why we now have 2 strikers that want to play rather than 1 striker who hasn't wanted to play all season. Sure, we'll find out tomorrow night
There isn't that much pressure on him this season as most fans have already written it off. I don't think there will be any pressure on Suarez to perform consistently until next season when we want to be back in the mix again
