    They might avoid it, the weather might not travel over but where I am the rain is non stop, I opened my front door this morning to what was literally a wall of water coming down. It's a bit lighter now but still coming down and the busy main road I live on flooded within 5 minutes of the rain starting, I've never seen that happen before

    The “British summer” is rain. They have had over 50mm this month in York already. According to TurfTrax, it was still Good to Firm (Good in places) at 08:30 this morning so they obviously missed the overnight rain (reported 0.2mm at 4am on the BHA website). On the York Twitter feed they have had 6mm to 10:45 and the going is now Good.

    Looking at the weather radar, the band of showers crossing the country West to East are over the York area right now and they could cop for 16-32mm/hour if they catch one according to the colour chart.

    That is why I am holding off on my selections... I had a couple picked that may be non-runners.

    Do not pay any attention to my alter ego... I only wear a bra on a cold Sunday to keep my ears warm.

    My nap is not in that race and Barney Roy is only my alternative in that race if my selection gets pulled out.

    According to the weather radar, the rain has now passed York and there is none to follow – the official going is reported as Good to Soft, Soft in places after 15mm of rain. Will Churchill still go?
