Great analysis by Jenas on MOTD2 echoing what you are saying here. Lets hope Rose comes back deadly as ever and the RB situation is adequately sorted.

    Chelsea were very defensive.
To be fair though, they did it well.
Effectively a back five and two holding midfielders left no space for Spurs to pass through them.
Spurs needed to create more width - which (as has been pointed out) is lacking without Rose and Walker.
The pitch size is a factor too - whatever people say. It seems to have an effect on the defence. On the counter, those extra yards to cover seem to cause some panic at times.

The pundits will say something like "you make your own luck" (because they only speak cliche). But I would argue that Chelski were lucky - certainly lucky to get a win. Some might argue that if something happens a lot it's not luck (or whatever) but some hidden factor or skill, or something explainable (hence get an all-so-knowledgeable pundit to explain), but that simply means they don't understand probability.

Apparently, in our last 6 games at Wembley we have conceded 12 goals from 15 shots on target.

Wanyama was awful but was targeted by the chavs as probably the weakest passer in our midfield. Every time he got the ball the blue sh!te descended on him in numbers. Poch should have seen that and done a switch for Winks early on. 1-0 Conte.

I don't blame Wanyama for the second goal, Lloris has to take the blame for that, awful distribution rolling it out down the middle of the park, the chavs must have thought it was Christmas. Gang up on Wanyama and a free goal, 2-0 Conte.

No one has mentioned the ref, I though he might as well been wearing either a blue shirt or blindfold. The Chavs should have had at lest three yellows before he got the cards out, including one for Willian, which would have resulted in a red when he got his yellow later on. I found a pair of spectacles in the toilets at half-time, if I'd have known where the referees changing room was I would have returned them to him. He had a very poor match. If teams are going to employ chav like tactics referees must not be frightened of carding someone in the first minute. Bitter me? Yes, £5 a pint for Hobgoblin was quite reasonable.

I also thought that the ref was poor. The arm in the throat of Trippier

The ref was poor in general though deedub.
Yes, there were decisions that didn't go our way, but just as an example, we mustn't forget Vertonghen's hideously high challenge which he could easily have been sent off for.

    No. It's just random.
If you make a lot more chances than the opposition and have good finishers, both of which we do, then you will win a lot of matches. It every so often random events will cause you to lose. I don't buy this stuff about Conte's tactics. Three slightly different bounces of the ball in the match and we we would have won two nil. Everyone would have been castigating him for negativity then and saying how creative we were but the match would essentially been exactly the same.
Goals win matches but they don't tell you who played better in a particular one.

    It's all in the head

I got to admit as much as I was trying to convince myself that it was a 'home' game I just kept on slipping into 'it's a cup final'

The atmosphere IS inspiring for the opposition, they see a neautral ground not our fortress.

Yeah I felt exactly the same.
It was only after the game that it resonated that, in fact, that was a defeat in our "home" match to Chelsea this season.

Harry's August hoodoo, the team's Wembley hoodoo, let's just break the hoodoos and get going. We lost so let's stop bemoaning the fact or the excuses and find ways of correcting the problems. If Harry doesn't score in the first half against Burnley let's bring on Janssen for the second half to give him a good chance to score as he didn't have a chance yesterday as he wasn't on long enough. That's one suggestion, any more anyone? Get Davison playing too.

    Seriously mate?
You won so enjoy the wumming but it's souless imho.
At WHL all the singers were together and for big games the place jumped...wembley is the opposite.
Personally (being a spur) I don't go expecting to win and love the atmosphere at matches but overall I haven't found wembley to be anywhere near as good atmosphere wise

The shear lack of game time that Janssen gets, whether on the pitch with Kane or as a replacement for him, just goes to show the lack of confidence Poch has in what he'll actually offer when he comes on. Poch may talk up all the players to be professional, but actions speak louder than words.
He doesn't have an impact on the game like Son does and it's getting to the point with Janssen now where we have to decide whether to stick or twist with less than 2 weeks remaining.
I'm of the view that he needs until at least January, but that opinion is based more on the fact I have no idea who we could replace him with.
But it just isn't happening for him.
