There were protests about the Yanks in late 2007, about 6 months after they took over. They tried to replace Benitez with Klinsmann But why are there £24m worth of 'Other Operating costs' included in your balance sheet? Kenwright says he doesn't know what those costs entail, but the fact that there are £24m worth of costs going out of the club which Kenwright refuses to elaborate on is pretty suspicious, wouldn't you say so lettuce. Even half that £24m would allow you to buy a decent player and pay his wages. It will cost you more in the long term to lease the training ground though, I'm sure one of the people from "The Blue Union" (?) said so to Kenwright in the interview. There's a happy medium between the two though lettuce, look at examples such as Stoke, West Brom etc who are small clubs around the same size as Everton being run well and still being able to spend on players. No one's saying you should go all out and spend £200m on new players, I'm just saying you could have a respectable amount to spend every season if you weren't run by Kenwright the clown who has slowly driven you to this point with his awful business decisions. I agree with that, and its hard to see you ever being able to afford a stadium now with your money problems.
Raaaul valid points, but if we dont lease finch farm and i think we can all agree its one of the best training facilities on the planet, what do we do have no training facilities, cos we dont have the 300 million it would take to buy it. the operating costs missig is a good point im no accountant neither is bill but its alot of funds going missing. west brom and stoke same size club as everton behave mate, but ia also agree with the way the club is being run but as stated in prior posts kenwright is not just to blame, he is just an appointed chairman he doesnt own the club he is not a majority shareholder thats what people miss, and if you read my previous posts ive pointed to a few examples where u just think wtf is going on, but at the end of the day, we sell the club who is to say that 2/3 years down the line the clubs over stretched it goes into admin, people were screaming why are the chicken farmers buying blackburn and not us, well im made up they didnt, same with carson yeung, people see oh they have been bought by x y z and think its all rosey from their, any birmingham portmsouth fan would kill to be in our position. the club in general is run with the correct ethos LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS the deals and negotiations for the commercial side of the club is abysmal at best.
page i take your comments on board but to say he should have sold the club, to who? no-one wants to buy us because we need a new stadium the one were in will fall down sooner rather than later, and those that have wanted to buy us havent had the capital needed to progress the club any further than the current board, but again its not bills club to sell, we never hear from the majority shareholders, he says the clubs for sale but is it? we just cant know that unfortunately.
I dont believe for one minute nobody has enquired or offered to buy the club. Did'nt Leahy(Mr Tesco)want to buy the Blues a few years back? Your sponsors are from a country with the biggest growing economy in the world and could easily afford to buy EFC. I think Kenright(like Moores did)is waiting for the best offer for him and not the best offer for his Club.
Page_Moss_Kopite oh people have but the main one where we went pretty much all the way to the dotted line, the person in question ceased trading in 2008, that shows again the lack of business nouce at the club, they were going to sell it to a company that ceased trading the years before lol, all i want is whats best for the club, but i cannot stress it enought kenwright is not the only person to lynch here because he is visible he gets the brunt of all the criticism but like i keep saying hes not a majority shareholder, i believe its robert earl, who bought out anita and paul greg in 2008 who were majority shareholders before that. i would happily sell but you have to be careful of what you wish for, we could end up with a hicks and gillett, or any number of 'football' club owners of the last 5 years who have literally destroyed a clubs entire history in one short swoop, all for the short term success, i want my club to be around for my children and their children if it means by doing that we have to cut he cloth accordingly and not spend money on players for a while so be it, id take that 10 times out of ten given the option of what weve see happen to many a club recently.
I don't like to see any team having problems like Everton i have always had time for them, half the family are blue I hope for their sake that they get things sorted and get rid of the current owners We got rid of our previous ones because they were doing damage to our club Kenwright&co are doing the same getting loans and putting them on the club It is not easy to find new owners that will do good for a club but i cert hope that Everton can turn the corner and continue playing prem football just as long as we win against them and have more success The prem without Everton WOULD NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT THEM
If Everton are out of money I suggest this: Every BIG club donates a player. For just £2 a month you can get a Poulsen for this deprived neighbour. C'mon. do your bit Kenny and donate Poulsen. (If it was last month you could've got an introductory offer of a free Jovanovic as well!)
Aye there is something very not right at the BS, they get the same TV money as everyone else, they never seemed to spend potato head's transfer fee. Bottomless money pit across the park, or directors taking their dividend, while the club suffers. Tis very wrong, but the BS seem to stick it and just blame us for all their woes.
Lettuce, Read Gavelaa's version of the minutes of meeting Kenright recently had regarding Everton's finances etc,Whether its correct or not i dont know. By the way his posts start about 5 down in McNulty's blog. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2011/08/bank_squeezes_blue_half_of_mer.html He did'nt handle the back to the wall treatment well and talked a load of bollix when asked about the sale of our club to Fenway.
Lettuce the brain dead under a different guise He's still crying over NESV dethroning of his hero's H&G!! Everton and the majority of their fans i feel sorry for. 2 questions they should be asking where has all the media money gone? and why can't they attract a suitable investor when they are falling over themselves to buy English premier clubs? Moyes has done a fantastic job on a very restricted budget, but this trend of selling there top players to service the debt will sooner or later catch up with them. I admire Kenwright's passion but in the modern game that alone isn't enough.
Molby...The Pass Master, what are you on about? i made a comparison with hicks and gillett because when you sell your club you dont know what your gonna get, hence the comparison a judges decison from your club being nothing more than a memory, id rather be skint than that happen, but i agree with what most ppl are saying on this thread, but im looking at it from a diff perspective, no one is queing up to buy everton this is a FACT, and the reason behind that is pretty simple, A NEW STADIUM IS REQUIRED. city would not have had the buy out they had, had they not lucked into the city of manchester stadium, they got that for sweet fa after the commonwealth games, its the same situation with your owners, reluctant to spend hundreds of millions on a new ground, ok they bought you but you have a global commercial market to exploit, thats something everton do not have, so without that or the infrastructure of a new stadium we are in limbo unless a bill equivelant comes along but has billions to throw away. its all good saying we need this that and the other but when the question of where is it coming from is posed, everyone draws a blank.
A NEW STADIUM!!!!! You honestly believe nobody is interested in investing in Everton because they need a new stadium..how naive. How did Blackburn, QPR and others attract new owners, smaller stadia than Everton, smaller fan bases, smaller global appeal. Yet investors where found who wanted to own them..So why can't Everton one of the oldest and most respected football clubs in English football find a buyer..and no, it isn't because you need a new stadium. What happened with the Kirby project? The kings dock project? Two opportunities Everton had to move forward and grow. There is an underlying issue why no one want to invest in Everton football club..and not having a modern 60,000 stadium is not the answer.
Reading through the posts and thinking about Everton's situation... it's not that bad. but they do need to move heaven and earth to keep Moyes, he is one of the most under rated managers in the league. even with very little monetry investment in the team over the years he wasn't too far from the europa cup last season. How many other clubs can perform as well as Everton with a net spend of -£3m over the last 4 seasons..
blackburns owners are not the kind of owners i want thank you very much, they will go the same way as pompey and birmingham you will see. qpr as said by the new owner, and lets remember their previous owners were multi billionaires too. "QPR is a raw diamond and hopefully I can contribute into turning it into a diamond," I've always wanted to be involved in football and the appeal of a London club, like QPR, was too good an opportunity to turn down. "I'm keen to create a good Academy, so that there's a constant supply of players. We're in a fantastic part of London and we should be bringing kids through. and he also goes onto say about redeveloping the current stadium or moving to a new home. its hardly niave blackburns stadium isnt falling down neither is qpr neither is yours, ours is it costs us near on 8 million a year to keep it going to meet the current health and safety regulations, if you for one second dont think thats not a stumbling block then your not only deluded your an idiot. kirby was denied by lcc because us moving out the city would be detrimental to local business but it was never a viable option either the lies that were told about that were extraordinary, kings dock failed for a number of reasons and thats the project that will come back to haunt us and is coming back to haunt us, 30 million is all we needed.
