Hopefully get some players in this week and end off the window with a solid home win against Burnley and things will look a whole lot better. Only United and Huddersfield have hit the ground running this season and both had 2 very kind fixtures against utterly **** teams. In all honesty as much as this defeat hurts, I vastly prefer an early wake up call than the 'unbeaten' runs that see us win 4 and draw 6 and we can all bask in imaginary glory that we're actually invincible. Clearly a few players weren't 100% fit today and that shouldn't be the case next weekend. I'm weirdly optimistic as the performance wasn't that bad and on another day and against any other opposition other than those scum we probably had enough about us to win. But clearly lacking in depth. If your answer to needing a late winner is Sissoko and Janssen, you're clearly unaware of the urgency of the question. COYS
If Janssen is the answer then WTF was the question? You surely have someone (anyone) in the youth that is better than him. Janssen makes Solado look world class in comparison
I agree. WIth the right additions, we'll be fine at Wembley. I like what they've done to the place to make it feel like home.
Chelsea came with a tactic and implemented it well. They defended really well and broke fast. They madeit near impossible for Dele and very difficult for Kane. Fair play to them for that. They were quicker in a lot of 50/50s and were physically stronger than us on the day. All in all they out spursed in terms of pressure on the player with the ball. We play well in patches but in midfied we were out fought and Wanyama was a problem most of the match. He was constantly caught in possession and we eventually paid the price. I am gutted because it was an unnecessary mistake which gifted them 2 points and denied us 1. IF Wanyama had cleared the ball we'd been pleased with the start to the season.
Nope. There's an unwritten law of the universe that as a punishment for getting greedy and stockpiling Berbatov, Keane, Defoe and Bent in the same squad, we aren't allowed more than one good striker at any one time. So for instance when Bale was playing as a winger Adebayor was brilliant, but then when he moved further forward the Togolese was ****e. In a similar vein, Kane's emergence meant that Soldado was destined to be crap, and the same goes for Janssen. We could've signed Neymar and one of him or Kane would've developed cataracts and gone blind. It just has to be this way.
I don't think we were out fought in midfield at all we had most of the attacking play. Chelsea just parked their bus and that was that. They won the CL with the same tactics. The second half was at least played a little better than the usual disgusting stuff from Chelsea that we got in the first half.
Yes, its very difficult to break up a bus with just 11 pairs of the football boots of this current generation.
Poch has an enormous task on his hands. But, I would take bets now.. Chelsea will not win against us again for the rest of this season.
Wow. That's a big shout, bearing in mind they were depleted somewhat today and we still couldn't get a result.
I think that we were pressed into giving the ball away a lot and saw Wanyama, Dier, Dembele all being knocked off the ball at times. I wasn't criticisng the players effort but I think chelsea continually harassed us into mistakes...that's how they got their winner
Still ain't home yet. ****ing hate this season already at this **** hole. Can we just skip forward a year? Oh, and **** Chelsea.
I know it's a small detail but the red chairs bothers me the most. Can't the club put temporary blue covers over them on match day
