Lots of potential for sackings this season so who will go first/ then next. My money is on either Palace panicking or the pornographers shooting their load early. Someone on another thread suggested Hughes at Stoke could go. There has been talk of Conte getting irritated at Chelsea but I think that's unlikely to go any where. This is genuinely a serious thread But the usual mo fos will descend so let the wumfest begin.
Don't think Palace will panic. I actually think Hughes is a good shout. Bilic probably favourite though. What games have West Ham got coming up?
Cheltenham away cup 22nd aug Newcastle away 26th Aug International break Huddersfield home 12th sept Must win cup and toon match or Bilics in deep ****
Probably need 6 points from Hudders and Newcastle. Good result for Stoke today, maybe Hughes isn't in trouble
I don't see how Swansea can sack Clement? They need to back him first they're without their 2 best players from last season presently!! Though these are the owners who appointed Bob Bradley...
Just don't see Swansea giving him a chance. Ever since they sacked Laudrup they've been impatient with new managers.
Different owners now to then, though I take your point. I just think it would be incredibly harsh, and could be a ticket to relegation if they don't sign anyone.
Yep, but the same impatience and knee jerk decisions. I've got Swansea down as one of my tips for relegation. But I'm waiting to see how Huddersfield and Brighton get on first.
All depends on who they sign for me, incredibly short up top, and if Llorente goes... My preseason picks were Brighton, Burnley & Hudders.
Burnley aren't newly promoted. Newcastle are. Don't think either of Hudders & Brighton have bought well enough. Me too regarding Swansea, potentially Stoke & Palace too. Most others should be okay imo.
Of course, sorry. Brighton look too light all over the squad. Huddersfield too. I think Stoke (****s) and Palace will be okay, but I can definitely see Swansea getting dragged into that relegation mix. How do you think Newcastle will do ? I've got them down for a fairly decent mid table finish.
I think Hudders are doing that thing where they fill out their squad with very decent Championship players so if they go back down then they're in a great position to go back up. Stoke should be okay yeah, just think they've had a poor Summer and won't be suprised if Hughes doesn't last the season. Newcastle are another one who could go one or two ways, depending on signings. Not really paid much attention to who've they signed so far tbh. Wouldn't suprise me to see a 13th/14th placed finish but equally wouldn't suprise me to see a meltdown of Rafa leaving once window shut due to no signings
Yeah Rafa is always teetering on the edge of pissy fit. Looking forward to watching some of his post match rants this season
Its a shame you cant build teams no more from local players it's all about instant success because of the cash and champions league, Man United for champions league glory woooooooooooooo
I think I said elsewhere that I expect him to be manager of West Ham by November, he had agreed to come when Allardyce left, but then Real came calling and we ended up with Bilic. It took less than 6 months for the resilience Sam gave us to disappear completely, he was trusted with transfer targets last season and we bought ****, we are tactically inept, throwing people forwards and leaving the slowest man as the only person between the opposition and our goal, and sometimes that last man is 10 yards inside their half FFS. We play with attacking wing-backs which really gives us a 2 man defence, I don't even do that playing PES because of how open it leaves you at the back, and I always have a speed demon playing there, rather than treacle runners. On top of that half the team seem apathetic, so something needs to change, sadly, because I like him, it has to be Bilic, the buck stops with the guy who makes the decisions. He had a good first season, but that was more down to Payet, emotion of the last season at UP and the defence were still working to Sam's blueprint. He also agreed the sale of Tomkins, despite him being the only person in the squad that could actually play at RB.
