You are overqualified as a radio Humberside phone-in caller. For me it's also about the current state of the game (but mostly the current owners).
I'll give you a genuine answer. I don't think they are OK as owners, they have split the supporters and not taken the club forward despite spending over a quarter of a billion pounds since they bought the club. However, I don't think they are pocketing millions of pounds from transfers or syphoning off the parachute payments. If we don't get promoted in the next two seasons our income is going to be between £10 to £20 million. That means we need rid of our high earners and, yes, to replace them with cheaper players. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended last season in debt (excluding the Allams' debt, of course) gambling on Marco Silva keeping us up. I suspect Clucas will be sold to fund a replacement for Hernandez. If Hernandez hadn't got injured then we may well have kept him. That we are in this mess is solely down to the failure by the Allams to build a strong enough squad to compete at championship level to ensure we are a proper yo-yo club, unlike Burnley and before them West Bromwich Albion.
Not sure about on here, but unbelievably they do still exist. I don't think we are united as fans even now. To me, it beggars belief.
It's getting near to the point when the Allams will have to keep their word and give the club away, remember the sell in 24 hours and if there are no buyers I will give it away. Soon the Allams could have recouped all their money and a bit more, this is based on selling the assets and the parachute money being used to pay back their loan with interest. That will leave Hull City with no ground, no valuable players, just a few minor bits and pieces and potential income as a football club in England. The value even if we are still in the championship will be extremely low due to the investment needed to realise the potential income.
Two easy picks in burnley and WBA obi. You make it sound easy. How,long did it take boro to come back up with the best chairman in the world. Boro? Forest? Leeds etc etc etc
Its not easy but Middlesbrough have not just sold all their best players after relegation. In fact they've strengthened it. Not a lot of good its done them though. Forest and Leeds United were from a different time and had nowhere near the finances available to the Allams. I think the damage was done by Steve Bruce but the Allams allowed him to do it.
What about villa. They didn't do it either yet spent loads. There's loads of,clubs who don't come back up. Naming your two makes it sound so easy. It isn't.
I agree, for the second time, it isn't easy. Spending money is easy though, there are plenty of agents out there willing to help you spend it. I would rather our owners tried to follow the example of West Bromwich Albion or Burnley than Aston Villa.
Yo u can only follow their lead if you started off were they were. Let's see how burnley are after relegation this season and they start chasing it after splashing so much cash this season.
One of the FB groups have found an Ehab Allam account and have started messaging it. Wonder how that'll turn it. Seems to be real with some of the earlier posts on the account.
Burnley's income from transfers is £44 m and they've spent less than £14. Chris Wood would take that to around £30m which still leaves them quids in. Might be different if they've bought Clucas for £15m but I wouldn't say they've splashed the cash just yet. I wonder how much they have in the bank from the £100m plus they earned last season? I'd say if they get relegated they'd be in a good position to keep the bulk of their squad and challenge for promotion again.
How much have you put on dead certs Burnley going down? Who will join them? Who will replace them? Sharing your info will enable us all to make a few bob.
The only reason why there hasn't been a full riot vs the Allams is because things were happening on the field, if that goes away, then **** will hit the fan. Maybe not this year but if next isn't a successful one then it will be
Are you trying to flirt with me still? I thought I'd been clear on my feelings towards you. Let it go. It ain't happening. Currently I'm more bothered about the behaviour of fellow City fans towards other City fans, and their attitudes towards being called out on unacceptable behaviour. They're far worse than the Allams, with the same attitude of being untouchable and above criticism. They're worse because whilst the Allams will go, those particular ****s will still be around.
Yes, you're spot on as usual. That's our real issue, Happy - the fans that call out the (almost non existent) Allam apologists Not the Allams themselves of course
