I'd put a 200m bid in for Messi and leak it straight to the hacks - made up of 20 x 10m annual payments. ****s
I find it hard to believe that Coutinho wasn't told face to face by Klopp - even if it wasn't his personal wish but a message passed on from FSG - that he wouldn't be sold at any price. Coutinho's actions following the press conference in which Klopp verbalised that message to the listening audience shows either his [Coutinho] naivety or stupidity or both.
What, when they only finished paying for Luis just over a year ago? Have you seen their proposed payment plan of the £80m, never mind the £34m of add-ons including Ford to be the first human to walk on Mars and to discover a cure for cancer? Jeez Tobes, I know you want this to happen, but it's ****ing ludicrous given they're supposed to have £200m in the bank. Mind you, do they? Have the banks taken that £200m and said 'We'll take that, thank you, to pay off some of your debt'? (I had a loan with RBS @ 10 years ago that I defaulted on. I had a repayment programme with them, but I answered one of these companies that said they'd get back the insurance premium. I got 'awarded' £2k -which RBS promptly knocked off my debt, and then the company wanted £500 commission!) I digress, but the main point is that if Barca have to come up with all this financial shenanigans then Astro has been right all along and they're on their fiscal ringpiece. Henceforth, their MO will even further be to destabilise and pay under the odds on the never never. It's bigger than Ford now, even if he's stupid enough to spend a season on the beach with Costa. Give in to this and they'll be back next season or the season after. Well not to us they won't. What have we got to lose? £16m next year, at most. **** that. What replacement do we get for £16m?
Firstly I'm not bothered what happens with this lad mate, I don't think he's all that anyway, as he's not consistent enough and is easily deterred if the game gets a bit fruity. Even at the 'basic' £80m I think he's way over priced. I don't know enough about Barcas finances to pass comment on what their current status with the bank may or not be, but they did make a €29m profit after tax in their last accounts, so the view that their on their arse is probably wishful thinking. Most big transfers on the continent are paid instalments but the bid they've put on the table looks a pisstake in that regard given that you don't want to sell.
Bet you weren't bothered in the derby either when he did you entire team and put it top corner to finish your season #neutral If £80m is overpriced then how much is Sigurdsson really worth?
On the instalments. I'm guessing that we would finance any deals we had by either structuring the payments in a similar way or leveraging the Barcelona debt which obviously has a cost. Should we sell him, I guess it also serves our purpose to let others know that we don't have a big wedge of cash.
Sat in the bank mate, just because you've banked it doesn't mean you have to lash it on the table the following week. Btw I've just checked their debt situation, the Neymar fee would virtually completely wipe it.........their debt level compared to turnover looks completely manageable and they wiped €24.5m off it last year.
BBC still insisting its £118m bid, just mentioned on FF. FFS! Its £80 with alot of riders that would only be paid if Couts becomes some kind of Superhero. Strange that Man U only paid £75m according to BBC and not the £90m (with all the addons)
Coutinho scored 4 more goals but 6 LESS assists than Sigurdsson last season in the league So if he's £80m we robbed Gylfi
