RIP Bruce, as others have all said, a massive part of growing up. The Generation Game on a Saturday was always on in our house.
This is really sad OLM, as you probably know, throughout Geoff's illness she has been a rock and some. A lovely warm person RIP Moira
Liz MacKean former BBC journalist. Dead aged 52 after a stroke. She was a fearless and ego less investigative journalist, who stuck to the story and told it with clarity and balance. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40981585
Read that news yesterday. I can't say I know her, or of her, but I was mightily impressed by her willingness to stay true to her values & principles. RIP
Apart from what we saw on the screen etc, in my professional life I have been lucky enough to have worked with folks who worked with her (other journo's, camera operators, techies and one of my old student's directed her on Newsnight) and they all said many years ago how good a journo' she was. Hard working and tenacious, but also modest and self-deprecating. (There's some funny out-takes doing the rounds). Sadly, she was shafted by those who should have known better when she got too close for some on the Savile case. She was one of the few who could gain access, trust and talk to both sides during the Irish troubles.
And Russia RIP It may be that of those stabbed none died though some are seriously injured. Only the attacker was shot dead. No rip for him.
Colin 'Pinetree' Meads aged 81 Best All Black Rugby Union player of all time...hard as nails RIP http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/40991029
Condolences Chazz Dove House is an amazing place, but it will be really difficult for Mrs Chazz regardless
Bruce, it's all been said. Brilliant entertainer. RIP. Chazz's wife's, Aunty Christine - sad news on holiday, have a snifter the pair of you and think on the good times. RIP. Those poor souls on the USS Indianapolis. They have finally found its last resting place. So many escaped the vessel, only to perish in shark infested waters. They understood the meaning of terror. RIP.
