So we have lost Hernandez & Henricksen to injury. The bid for the Cardiff striker who prior to our supposed interest I'd never heard of is apparently a lie Clucas is going to Swansea or is it Burnley We may have tried to sign Johnson from Oxford but we can't get the deal over the line as they want 3m and we've offered 1m And finally we've bid for a Huddersfield injured player. .
We've 100% bid for Zohore, if we hadn't Warnock wouldn't have gone off on one like he's done today. He's obviously very concerned about losing him
I'd have looked at Sean Raggett, but he's just signed for Norwich. Good player. Bradshaw at Barnsley would be a decent acquisition, probably the only player at this level that would represent good value. Callum Camps at Rochdale would be a good contender for AM to replace Henriksen/provide competition. Lopes at Peterborough will be a future star, if he isn't bought now we've no chance.
I put on here about jack Marriott. Posh have signed him from Luton. Banged a hattrick in last week. Born in beverley
Yeah he's been very good recently, Posh have a decent non league scouting system headed up by Chairman Darragh McAnthony, its how they keep finding such good players. It's what a proactive chairman looks like.
It's probably a technicality, someone picked up the phone and had a chat about a figure, we got told to **** off, press reported it as a bid and Warnock gone off on one BCC stylee.
I'm presuming the Bradshaw you mention is Tom Bradshaw who was prolific at Walsall a couple of seasons back .. I recall championing him before he went to Barnsley .. good finisher
It wouldn't surprise me if RA told him to walk and occupied him with something else as a filler ... I have no idea what, but not Chelsea.
Unless of course Sloots knows more then he is letting on .. and is hanging in there awaiting the arrival of a potential comrade owner
He knows what he can get, season by season. He has realised that taking out money will have a limited duration and that as he stops spending he will inevitably relegate the club. He would understand this and be happy with it, as he hates us as much as some hate him. If he can sell first is a win-win all for him.
Probably the best thing they have done for the club is Investing in the youth development (even since issuing their 24 hour deadline). It's just not congruent with any of their other actions. The only conclusion to me is that they see this as a long term cash cow.
I agree with the gist of your post, but not with the conclusion. It is a cash cow with a definite and progessively downwards trend, over a very limited period. Profits from sales will rapidly diminish as they sell the most valuable players - they will have appraised this windows prices as many on here did, only to be pleasantly surprised at the shockingly high reality. The truth is that they must strike a balance between profits now and gradually increasing costs (in relation to profit) going forwards. A couple of reasonably priced larkers bought now would be sensible and recoverable insurance. A sale between the end of this window and next summer is, for me, the optimum option. Others might disagree ...
