No, if you read back you will see how I heard. Last heard of he was in Antibes.
Reading profiles is a bit too stalkerish for me.

    What?
Smeg has always been a bit obsessed by bigger clubs and used to spend a lot of time withing he was a barcode. Can expect him to associate with us, forest and villa and the other bigger championship clubs now.

fcuk me this is funny ... quick correction, Oirish doesn't own a TV, but has been seen creeping around with a Sky remote, peeking through neighbours' windows and switching their channels to the Leeds match

Morning mate, yes I'm quite mellow these days.

Life's good but, ironically, it's twice the time & cost to get to the home games than it did from Antibes.<doh>

We're looking after the property of the cousin of the Man City owner ...... fabulous place and he's only around a couple of months a year.

He's not struck on buying Sunderland though ;)

Smug, let's get back to the cause of your tirade ... I too watched Sunderland v Derby because I wanted to see if your club were going to be challenging for promotion this season ... I was, quite frankly, disappointed that there were more red seats than people on view ... yes, I know it was only Derby, but come on man, the team needs to be supported to help them perform

I wasn't surprised though, because last season's memory of Sunderland for me was a team that was abandoned by it's "loyal" supporters ... mass walkouts before half time, a three quarters empty stadium with 20 minutes to go and points on the line sucked the belief out of your players ... Sunderland's supporters were complicit in their relegation, and did very little to help their team

once the supporters took the doom and gloom route early in the season, failure became inevitable ... the thing that struck me the most when hearing Mackems talk was how they felt it was Sunderland's right to be in the Prem, their right to be splashing the cash on big name signings, their right to be above the Geordies

unfortunately, the one thing that never came across was the need to stand by their club, support their team fiercely in the relegation struggle, make the Stadium of Light a fierce place to visit where there were no easy points on offer and you knew you'd be facing a team and a crowd up for a scrap ... too many teams were guaranteed points when they went to Sunderland last season, and a lot of that had to do with the negativity coming from the stands

so yes, the opening day gate against Derby was pathetic for a "big" club that had just been relegated ... add in the fact that you were playing against a team expected to challenge for the playoffs and the poor attendance is even more baffling ... imagine if you had a full house, fired up and hostile, roaring the Mackems to a 3-0 win ... now that would have been a real statement of intent, it would have galvanised the club, lifted the dressing room and set the tone ... it would have said to the Championship "fcuk you, we're here for one season and you're going to hate coming here"

Sunderland supporters have to shoulder their share of responsibility here, and take a more positive approach to this season ... if they continue with this negative approach the club will continue to fail ... time to unite and take on the Championship as a strong, positive club ... remain bitter and negative and this Championship, this cruel and unforgiving Championship, will destroy you

Spot on. The Geordies stuck by their outfit last season. Full house virtually every home game and was surely worth a few extra points that made a difference

' I heard on the grapevine you are now in Surrey? Hows life.'

Doesn't that make him a scum supporter?

Out of fairness I read your post through and, although it's well constructed, it's badly informed and full of speculative fantasy

I won't bother going through it blow by blow as it's mainly typical 'Sky Sports opinions' from watching too much TV.

But I've highlighted the most ridiculous bit ....

"..... the thing that struck me the most when hearing Mackems talk was how they felt it was Sunderland's right to be in the Prem, their right to be splashing the cash on big name signings, their right to be above the Geordies."

... if you can bump posts , from Sunderland supporters on here, claiming we have the right to be in the Prem, splashing big money or above Newcastle then I'll happily admit I'm wrong. In reality I think you've invented it to back up what you think is an argument.

As for 'a full house, fired up and hostile, roaring the team to a 3-0 win ...
.... where did the Leeds supporters go so badly wrong against Preston and Fulham <laugh>

And why did the 3000 'loyal Leeds supporters' lose faith so quickly and not return for the 2nd match ......

I must admit I have always found the low level of Leeds support to be strange. Fans from all over the world, but home gates are poor for a city with a population approaching 800,000 and only a one club city.
