You need to read it mate, amazing stuff. Wait Until Spring Bandini by John Fante.

Got to say I studied American Lit at uni and had never come across Fante. He's the kind of author I like, given my favourite of all time is John Steinbeck. Pure, natural, un-fussy writing style and similar to the Toni Morrison philosophy of - every word is there for a reason - no unnecessary embellishment.

Can I recommend Babbitt to you - Sinclair Lewis. We have similar taste in literature so think you'll enjoy it.

I will look at that right now.

You are right Fante has been ignored by the powers that be but he's just as good as the American classic writers and a hell of a lot better than the loved Kerouac.

He's a genius of an author. If you don't have an ereader and you're not into actually holding a book in your hands, you can read Steinbeck's greatest book ever, imo, The Grapes of Wrath, online here - http://nisbah.com/summer_reading/grapes_of_wrath_john_steinbeck2.pdf

I've no intention of paying. No one would have ever paid for me (didn't go uni, was never interested) and I've got three of the little twats!

    Guys.....

    1. Family is for life, in both directions. Parents and your kids.

    2. The fact that you have gotten them there should be proof enough to anyone that you have done a great job as they have the brains and ethics to do it at all.

3.further jb helped me a while ago to prepare for my two by starting to save for this. He helped me understand what's needed. Only another 10+ years of saving o_O. So thanks jb.

    4. If these loans were not there then uni would be nothing but toffs and the country would be in the dark ages. They are paying for "superior" research and tutorials, facilities etc that all benefit from as if the government paid the place would be fslling down around their ears.

Yeah and the one who's a good footballer, both fizzled out though he's too chilled out doesn't really work at things but can do most things to a good standard without much effort.
