I worked part-time in the local odeon when it was showing. Brought in hoardes of 12-16 year old girls. Jealous?
I saw Daybreakers not so long ago which had a really good premise, that the vampires are the majority and we are their cattle which are well on the way to becoming extinct. It's not amazing but I thought it was at least a good attempt at a different type of vampire movie.
It might be a movie for under-age girls but remember that by the time the last one comes out they will be 18 year olds wearing slutty vampire costumes to the 00:01 screenings. Made going to the Harry Potter screenings a pretty good night even if it did make me feel old when one of the birds I went with told me she was 10 when the first book came out :/.
Heard good reviews about the Swedish one but heard it is shot for shot, word for word the same as the US one. It was a different spin on the vampire movie but thought it was just average.
Never seen it never really even bothered paying any attention to it, it got recommended to me by a guy which is what worries me the most!
The Swedish version came out first. Not that I have anything innately against American and America of course. I haven't seen Let Me In, but where the script might be the same, I don't think it's the same setting. Let the Right One In in set in some remote Swedish town and it feels very dark and the constant snow provides a fitting resonance of innocence.
