Didn't see the game last night but listened to the commentary- after one early naive pass it sounded like he really grew into the game - would be excellent if a player comes through (not academy I know) rather than buying
No tin hat needed, Wood is not the most clinical of finishers, which is why he is in the championship, he's just not as bad as some make out. What he is good at is getting into goal scoring positions, if he scored from most he'd be a 60 million striker. He also tends to go on scoring runs so once one goes in. I'd expect him to get a few. Seems to me he is better as a more of an 'instinctive' forward, the less thinking time the more likely he will score, hence the one-on-one misses (just my opinion of course, bow to those who watch him more). But for those two misses we'd be sitting on maximum points with none conceded (and I was worrying about the goalkeeper).
