Neves cost £14m, but he's the only one of the current starting XI who cost big money, Costa's out injured for three months, so isn't included.
Apologies, with all those foreign names on the team sheet (Goebels etc.), I just assumed one was Costa.
Good job Costa didnt play.... he is a player...!!!! Isn't it sad that we've had the potential to sign that standard of player, I seem to remember some lad 19 in Germany with more tricks than someone down Waterhouse Lane and now we're shopping in Poundland...
Why? Finishing 9th might have the appearance of "consolidation" if you mean by that we're not relegated but next summer after this apparent consolidation we could just easily have yet more net sales from the owners and a relegation battle the next season. I'd prefer 2nd.
I have been to Burnley on a number of occasions and never seen a single person walking around in a shirt of the club's from those 3 cities which I mentioned, whereas I have seen loads wandering about in Hull, which is further away from them. The comparison was between Burnley, which the poster had queried as a club someone would go to , and Hull where his present club is. Not whether you see a Barcelona shirt on your travels FPS. Hull is the worst place for seeing people walking about in shirts of other clubs I can think of. A lot down to those peculiar fans of rugby clubs who are proud to support their local teams but seem to think it is alright to support a football club from elsewhere. Never seen that happening in Leeds or Bradford.
It's fairly obvious. People who follow FC or Rovers often have a favourite football team but they often shun City as some sort of rival within the city of Hull and follow Man U or Liverpool, etc. Burnley football club don't have that problem.
To be fair to Clark during the first half, as that was closest to me in the West stand, and many occasions he has 2 men to mark, their winger and player inside, as Grosicki just doesn't mark anyone. So he was marking the inside player and leaving the winger until the ball came out to him, then he would go over to close the winger down, who would then pass to the player he had just left.
I live in Leeds and let me tell you there's plenty of people that wear shirts from the big teams, either that or I'm massively underestimating the number of Spanish expats. Same happens in Bradford, far more Man U shirts than Bradford ones.
You only have to go on the Leeds board on here to see the comments about the ****ers wandering round the city centre in 'filth' shirts.
Clark got absolutely no help from Grosicki, but that doesn't change the fact that he's no left back at this level, he makes Snodgrass look pacey.
Certainly Clark is not the answer, he neither has the attacking threat Robbo had, which to some degree compensated for his defensive weaknesses, but also defensively he just isn't ready yet, and there has to be a question mark whether he would make it at this level. But as I said last night Grosicki is just a lazy twat, or worst just doesn't care.
