Couldn't be believe thst Grosicki stayed on the pitch I'd have kept Campbell on and put Dio on the left in place of him (or pretty much anyone actually)
I'm not sure you can apportion any blame to Clark for that, given the ball and goal and play all came from the right for that goal. We had plenty of chances to deal with it on the right side before Neves scored. Or do we start looking for blame 3-4-5-6 phases before the goal was conceded?
3 games in a week including a long travel + minimal pre season training = right decision to remove Fraysher.
Yeah I didn't actually disagree with that substitution My point was Gros should have been taken off too Dio for Gros and Bowen up for Campbell maybe would have worked
I admire glass half full fans. I'm not and as Wolves played in a sky blue kit I had to pretend we were playing Man City for most of the game so I didn't feel so bad about the gulf in class between us.
Bit disappointed after last night, was a game of fine margins. 1st goal, Henriksen didn't close Neves down quickly enough, you can't give a lad like him time as he'll bury it. I feel for Aina getting all the criticism. Bowen is completely useless defensively, he has no idea where he should be and who he should be marking. Really, he's not ready to be playing in those sort of games just yet. Funny, but once Larsson came on, we seemed much tighter down the right. Playing a 343 would really suit us, especially now Abel's going to be about for a good while. I think from what I've heard about Johnson it may be a formation which suits him too. We desperately need a left back though.
Seems bizarre to me that we have Mazuch on the bench and 2 full backs starting who simply aren't ready yet. I'd be adjusting the formation to get the most out of the experienced players we have.
I agree, I would have changed it to 352 and brought Mazuch on, as we needed to get a grip of the midfield with Meyler on for Henrikesen and I would have changed Grosiki for Larssen.
The full backs aren't the issue. Clark is steady, nothing amazing though. The problem's the right side. You have Henriksen who has no idea defensively, Bowen who just seems to run up his own arsehole and then Aina pretty much consistently has to face a 2 on one. He had to cover Jota/Enobakhare and Douglas, while Bowen covered nobody. That's where the issue was. If Stewart would've been fit, the first goal certainly wouldn't have gone in.
After our defence has been ripped apart that will be our main downfall this year. You go up not conceding goals a relationship can't be made between all four of them with inferior players. Not every starting on the goalkeeper and inexperience of them all.
