I'd agree with pretty much all that.

The crowd was about the same as Saturday, just with an extra 1,000 away fans.

Aina would make a great right winger, he's technically gifted and good going forward, or even a right wing back (should have gone three at the back last night).

Sadly Max simply isn't good enough.

How was Clark at fault for the first? Given it came from the right (our right), with a pass into Neves on the right, who shot and scored from our right?

Unfortunately it's not as easy as just closing the opposition down, if it was then teams would just do that against the likes of Man City etc, the difference with them last night was they had some very clever (and very expensive) players who were very good at looking for those gaps and exploiting the space we left. They won't be far off come end of the season because it's only 3 games gone and they will gel more. Decent team but we have to move on and sort ourselves out.

For what it is worth, I have seen a number of comment from Wolves fans saying we were the better team out of Boro & Derby who they have already played.

After 10 minutes the pattern of play employed by Wolves was hugely predictable. Not at all 'world beaters' they just stuck to a game plan over 100 minutes and we weren't savvy enough to deal with it.

Had we changed formation, they wouldn't have had the freedom we gave them. Their game relied upon the wingers/wingbacks hugging the touch line - the majority of play coming down our left their right.

If we'd gone 3 centre halves and wing backs that space would have gone. We should also have had Meyler on from the start in place of Henriksen - to disrupt their passing game.

We had no one within 10-15 yards of their full backs for most of the game. They must have loved the green open space we let them have.

For spells in the second half when we closed the space down, Wolves didn't have a plan b.

Edit - value or cost of the team is irrelevant. How much have Cardiff spent? You can guarantee Warnock will be far more tactically astute when they play Wolves! I bet Cardiff cost peanuts compared to our side.

They looked a team ready for the top six we didn't look far off but also looked like a team still building. Let's hope we get good news on Hernandez today because losing your top striker in a team with so few options is going to make a big difference to our season. If it's a long term injury we then need at least two more good forwards.

He was at fault actually GLP... he missed the tackle on the left that allowed the ball to come to Neves... If he'd have done his job and put the ball/ or the player into touch the ball wouldn't have come across..

People blaming anyone for a goal like that are a bit silly.

Wolves looked solid, well drilled and organised, I can't see them playing any great football this season but I can see them doing well. They did exactly what they had to and nothing more, they scored on the rare occasions they actually created anything and then saw the game out with some good ball retention, when they were beaten they just hacked our players down and took the yellow card, simple but effective.

We looked very disjointed but still created enough chances to win the game, we just weren't clinical enough.

Grosicki can **** off though, if we're paying you to do a job then do it, I don't care if you want to leave, earn yourself a transfer instead of sulking around, complete waste of a shirt last night.

Agree, the first goal was just a good strike, 9 times out of 10 that goes in the stands and not the back of the net, sometimes you just have to give credit where its due.

Oh don’t say that mate, we’re all back to wearing our relegation death mask guises especially with those who sucked Allam’s cock the hardest (‘til PL relegation in 2015) now shouting and crying the loudest.

We’re all about over using exclamation marks to express how mad we are too.

So having no ability to see the games anymore or listen to them, just going off these match threads, it seems we're better than Burton, but **** against everyone else.
Clucas, Grosicki, Henrikksen, Clark & Aina are ****, unless we play Burton & then they turn it on<laugh>
    Hector seems decent <confused>
    McG:emoticon-0121-angry is McG
Bowen is good but lightweight :emoticon-0139-bow:
    Slutsky is doomed!:(

The first half was like an FA Cup tie between a Premier League club and a Championship one, they were better than us in every regard. Their passing and movement was quick, sharp and accurate and we were chasing shadows and regularly passing the ball back to them. The second half, they took their foot off the gas and we had a go and to be fair could have pulled it back to 2-2, but when we conceded that dreadful third, we were knackered.

It's fairly obvious, that having seen the Villa game, both Burton and Wolves targetted our full-backs. You could have made a decent case for going three at the back last night, the problem is, there's absolutely nobody in the squad capable of playing as a left wing back (which is a shame, as it would suit Aina).

There's nobody on our bench capable of changing a game, there isn't even an option for changing the formation.

Grosicki ambles around like it's a pre-season, Bowen tries to help out Aina, but with little effect (hence Larsson replacing him), Clucas still doesn't look right (I definitely think he's on his way) and I don't know what to make of Henriksen, he's not rubbish, but he's a bit lightweight and creates very little.

The only area it looked like we had sorted was the strikers and now even that's knackered. <doh>

The absence of exclamation marks in your post supports your claim.

We could have easily got a result and were in the game , but rare in the championship you do get put out of sight - it reminded me of the premier league when we were often in games at home to Chelsea etc , but with us at maximum effort and running about trying to scramble a goal and they just looked a lot classier , shouldn't expect any different with our threadbare squad tho , won't be able to judge too much until September . My pre season thoughts were mid table and not seen anything to change my mind yet , too good for the likes of Burton , other teams with more quality

A very fair assessment, in fact Wolves in the first half looked better than a number of EPL clubs we saw last season, bodes well for them. I agree Clucas heads not right, I think he's on his way. If Grosicki is going to act like that all season then he can **** off also, he needs to give his head a wobble.
