Aina was MoM for me because the only time we looked a proper threat was when he ran the ball up the wing, and crossed it in, Elmo style. Yes a couple of iffy moments, but it's only his third match in the team - he's got a lot of potential. Some dreadful, basic mistakes in the first half, they all need to practice on some ball skills - how to pass, receive and kick! (Looking at you McGregor). Wolves were quality, men v boys, and if they keep this level going all season then they're going up.
I agree with this although I thought they looked very good first half we more than matched them second and like you say a couple of players would have made all the difference. Losing Hernandez will be a massive blow and for me at least another six players are needed to strengthen the squad.
Fully agree....they didn't look much better then us at all, tonight showed us 2 things imo 1- first 11 is a top 6 team 2- we have nothing past that first 11 to change it when needed We need players to firm up the first 11 and give us options of the bench ( and a couple to make that first 11 stronger LB etc ) the usual drama queens and doom mongering after a loss to the team that's buying their way out the division is a little OTT imo! We need signings, we need options, but we are not a million miles away like some would make out All my humble opinion of course
Well This seasons started better than I expected...because I expected a relegation fight and I actually think we'll be comfortably towards the top of the bottom half Things I think I think That crowd was nowhere near 17k Wolves are much better than us Wolves sensibly attacked our weak links at both fullback. Clark looks ok in their half, but poor in defence Aina...the same, although he should be better if he didn't keep pissing about. Needs to realise he isn't as good as he thinks he is Grosicki is a waste of a shirt at the moment Clucas looks distracted Hector is very very good...and was MOM no doubt Hernandez will be a huge loss if he's injured for a while We've got no strength in depth (or even in the shallows) North stand sounds good when it gets going We need to sing more songs for players...not just sluts
I agree, we weren't played off the park or anything. We gifted them chances and they took every one they had, as well as a wonder goal he'll try another 99 times and not score. We had chances and didn't take them all. Campbell missed a sitter, Dawson hit the post, Hernandez and Grosicki could have done a bit better with one or two of them. We were beaten fair and square, no complaints, but it could as easily have been a 3-0 win as a 3-0 loss.
This Trout. We won't go down and yes, the biggest worry after tonights game is Abels injury. There's no chance whatsoever Ehab will sanction even a reasonably equal quality replacement striker if Hernandez is going to be out long term. So I reckon any chance we have of a decent season now rests on Abels prognosis.
Does anyone on here genuinely believe we're going to bring 6 players in over the next couple of weeks?
I don't think there was a massive difference between us. We just allowed Wolves players far too much space on the ball. You don't have to be as skilful, but if you deny them the space their game relied on, you nullify the threat. We did in patches in the second half and Wolves looked lost when the obvious pass options weren't on. Stupid mistakes from the linesman for the 2nd Wolves goal and the Aina **** up cost us points. Wolves certainly don't look world beaters - we were carrying too many passengers in our starting 11.
Two of the goals were Aina **** ups, the second one he just sort of calmly stood there whilst their winger nipped past him and tapped into an empty net. Aina didn't have a ****ing clue he was there, that was his ball all day long.
Sadly not. Slutsky deserves backing. I think he'll do brilliantly well if he's supported, which he won't be. Laughing boy would prefer to spend parachute money on crass sports cars - allegedly. I think with a bit of money we could actually be a contender. That Mendez - Laing on a free from Rochdale for Cardiff looks like signing of the season for me. Great business by Colin.
