Honestly...sell coutinho and go buy a cb, lb and at least 2 midfielders.....

 

Could you find a bigger picture?

 

Despite our defence having one of their "sleepy" moments a win is a win.

 

Good win 2 away goals. Should see this out at Anfield now.

Sounds like good and bad again but not as bad as Watford. Well happy with the win.

The Hoff are a decent outfit and unlucky not to get more out of that. Im sure Lovren and co will give them plenty of opportunity next leg to win the tie.

 

Great result. We would have taken this before the game.

Hoffenheim showed us a lot of respect and we could have scored even more. But it was a good game and Mane showed how threatening he can be.

I think we all saw exactly how a 3 at the back system can be very poor.... hoffenheim showed how not to do it and all lfc did was play it deep cross field to mane who was in consistently.

We also saw every issue off have. I am now very worried about klopp in terms of where his head is at and how distracted he must be... this was pish... that midfield would have had any other manager in top 6 in prem screaming after 2 mins... mourinho would literally sub the lot off.

The amountbof times we saw any sort of quick play off a free or throw undo lfc was shocking. No effort to get a good starting position. Lovren mouthing almost costs a goal. Alexander Arnold booked for mouthing over a throw.... i think can was booked for a completrly unnecessary free.

It all points to a lack of discipline at the basics... there is a huge amount of improvement some basic coaching could do here... I really cannot believe how poor that was.

 

although the defence & midfield were cringeworthy the attack was also poor in the fact we could should have had at least 5 from the positions we found ourselves in.
shocking performance but vital away win.

 

Matip and TAA had good games for me, great goal for the young lad and his 1st for the club, we have good competition for rb when clyne is back at least

Lovren and Moreno were as always.. liabilities.

I don't like migs in goal and never have, he is simply not a good enough keeper to give confidence to his team mates.

It worries me that we can't seem to kill a game when in front or at certain periods of the match.. and also another late goal conceded, that needs to stop before it becomes a "thing"

 

Migs made a lot of important stops today when the defence decided to switch off.

Mig pulled off some cracking saves in last 5/6 games last year to win us points, again today saves a pen at 0-0 and puts us on course to qualify.

Guy makes important saves. Yeah he's not brilliant, yeah he makes the odd mistake, but last year or so he's made a positive contribution.

 

Expected a bit more positivity, we have 2 away goals. Should see his through against difficult opposition.

A win is a win is a win.

Yes, we could have done better but 2-1 against a German side away is good and I cannot see us losing more than 2 goals at Anfield.

 

Couldn't fault Ming today but he's average for a top 5/6 PL team. We need better tbh

Defence: TAA looks a prospect but I wouldn't want him anywhere near the rest of the back 4 in case he picks up bad habits. Their goal came because him and Matip stopped playing. Very basic.
The left side of our defence is embarrassing.

Midfield: wtf??

Front three: Mane is excellent. I hope we qualify just for him....bobby looks toast.....Salah needs to improve his finishing but there's promise.

 

Yeah he had a good game tbh.... he does sometimes and other times he's like moreno/lovren, I'm just of the thinking that to be a team who wants to be competing at the top you need a top keeper or at the very least a very very good keeper, migs for me is a good keeper sometimes and an average one more.

 

First thing to say - the tie's not over yet. Second thing to say - it should be. Firminho - oh come on. he couldn't pass the ball five yards in the first half, and what a sitter - ditto salah too on the last bit (and Mane, sadly as well).

 

You should really get to qualify on the back of this result but I have a sneaky feeling the better pitch at Anfield will benefit Hoffenheim more.
Should be a great second leg.
