By opinion you mean you reserve your right to butcher somebody on here for not having the same principles as you when deciding who to support? You just wrote that you get pissed off when you get grouped in with the plastics, tough.
I haven't once had a direct go at Matth. I've just offered my thoughts on a question he asked. Feel free to try to prove otherwise by all means. Matth is clearly a fan. No doubt. He asked, I answered. That's how it works, right?
By the way, while you're blithely and incorrectly assuming I mean the OP in what I've said, you might want to consider that he's from north Wales and, bar Wrexham, he doesn't have a local team. I said localish. Most of North Wales supports one the big north west teams, understandably so. Just so you know.
Agreed, mate. I don't have any affiliation with Manchester or Liverpool, why would I want to support them? I wouldn't feel any connection to them. When I was a kid I went to every home game, some away - always standing - many times in the pissing rain too. For me it was what supporting your local team was about.
Definitely mate, I'm the same. No affiliation to any one else at all. Contrary to popular belief, we did exist pre Roman.
I didn't mention Matth. Anybody who you'd determine to be a plastic. My opinion is that it's just a sport and I don't see why people are so hell-bent on proving themselves as 'better fans' to anybody. Throw shade at somebody for being a **** for sure but making them out to be some sort of beta football fan just because of the cards they've been dealt and choices they've made, nope.
Good for you. But, as I have already said, he asked, many answered. It's a discussion on a forum. If you don't like what other people have to say you could just not join in. I wasn't trying to big myself up as a fan but by the same token I, just like the majority of others who've dared offer an opinion, can differentiate between different types of supporter.
I support/follow Oakland Raiders and the Green Bay Packers in NFL, and New York Yankees in Baseball. My decision to support/follow these teams is a mixture of what I saw on TV and matches I have attended both at Wembley (NFL) and in USA Supporting Arsenal is a family history/location thing, some of my family supported Arsenal and some Spurs, some now support West Ham [FFS why]. I am fortunate to be in the position to go to Arsenal games, and to see any other sporting events that I like, but it isn't cheap to go to football. Deriding someone for not seeing their team is ****ish, because there are many reasons for not going - and some are purely financial. Anyway Math you follow who you like, and tell the haters to go do one.
Where did I say his name? I was talking about these so called 'plastics' you're so averse to. Perhaps it was you who was 'blithely and incorrectly assuming'.
It's just entertainment at the end of the day, you'll naturally gravitate and get attached to the things that interest you the most. I support United because my brothers forced me to basically, but I'm glad they did. I probably would have chose United too if left to my own devices, because they were far better than City when I started liking football aged 8/9.
Can you not use the quote button? I'm not denying anybody their opinion, I'm challenging it and that's how debating works when there's disagreements. Anybody who you'd determine as a plastic fan.
What for? I wasn't quoting anything. I don't hear anyone complining bar you. Maybe my having an opinion isn't actually offending anyone.
