Good Morning Everyone Burnley look set to increase their offer on Chris Wood to 20m according to press reports. Thoughts, if reinvested? Leeds United have completed a deal to sign 18 yo defender Bryce Hosannah. The right-back played in Leeds under-23 match against Qatar's international team last week and also featured in the 2-0 loss to Watford yesterday. He will go straight into the u23's. Rob Green has recovered and is available for selection tonight if picked tonight! Should TC selected him to start? Will TC select him? Did we let Cairns go too quickly? Fulham will have Tomas Kelas suspended tonight. Cairney will undergo a late fitness test having been injured during their warm up at Reading on Saturday.
Morning Elland and all. Losing Woods would be a disaster unless replaced with someone as good. He wont be as they arent out there and if they are, they wont want Championship football. There are no positives to losing him. If he is to go though, why not slap a 30m price on his head. If Burnley are that desperate, and they have the money, screw them to the limit. I wonder though will he be tempted to move to a piss average club like Burnley though. Given the right contract, he may be happy to stay put if thats his only option
Hoping for the right reaction from the players tonight. They allowed themselves to be rattled on Saturday which means more teams will use the spoining, bruising tactics to stop our ball players. The better players like Saiz, Alioski need to show they can rise above it and be just as devastating. This will be the difference between an overseas player making or not. Phillips showed he has a lot to learn too in games like Preston, and maybe even Tommy has learned that a game like that needs players like Bridcutt. Tonights game will be fast flowing and plenty if skill on show. Fulham were the best team last season so if they add a bit of steel they wont be far away. We should be able to show our best football tonight so expecting a good game. Leeds to win by 2
I don t believe Wood will go as he will have seen the things happening at the club. He will know going to a mid tier Prem team means he is on the bench and going to Burnley means a good chance of relegation. Yes a short term uplift in salary but down to earth with a bump. Wood actually brought his mum over to live with him whilst dad stays in NZ. So hardly a big time charlie, so I think the chances of him going are small. We do have a replacement though if we sign the German. The German has a good scoring record too but at ahigher level. He would be agreat addition to the squad to complement Wood but ....
Seriously I don’t think any of us know if we did we would be millionaires as we could forsee the future. Wood has his career to care for. I’ve read he enjoys football more than massive wealth, well good for him if true but he needs to care for his and look after himself so in the last ditch saloon he has a choice to make. Jam today or Jam tomorrow? If we have been planning for a possible need to replace him and have one lined up for the right money then it could be fantastic for us as well. If we haven’t and are left with the expensive dregs on the last day of the window, then ….. merde Tonight will be good night, or perhaps for some of us and early morning
Anyone think the stories about McWagePacket coming back is worth looking at? If we were interested surely we would have done something weeks ago. We have brought the big German over who has got a great scoring record and in the top flight. 44 has only done it at Championship level, never made it with Scotland, only did it the one season with us and has been a fkg pain for every club he went to after. For me fk him not interested
Your argument is fine until you forget that in the real world Burnley might be a piss average club but they are better than us, and hence in the prem. If he goes he goes, if he stays he stays..... But lets not pretend we are anything other than an average championship team ATM. Our league position didn't lie at the end of last season and it wont lie after the10 games you say you need to judge the team this season.
The away end at Turf moor has to be experienced to be believed. The back half and toilets have not been touched since the 1930s. I can't believe they are allowed in the prem with a ground in that state.
Steady Josh... The happy clappies will be gunning for you if you keep liking and agreeing with the obvious truths I point out. That's twice in two days.. If I noticed so did they, you will be waking up to find sporran on your pillow at this rate.
And twelve months ago, Boro, Villa and Sunderland would have been a good move for him. Now, they are just Championship sides like Burnely will eventually be just with more potential maybe
But its a short career and there is no such thing as loyalty. Sign for a prem club treble or quadruple the salary and leave if they get relegated. If he stays now he is likely to resent it, I think on balance unless he 100% wants to be here then its time to sell to the highest bidder starting with offers over £17 mill.
Well know the outcome in two weeks. PL are looking to introduce the ending of transfer window before season starts and I think its a great idea. Would stop all this unsettling transfer ****e a month into the season. I almost feel sorry for victimpool, almost
