Anyone notice this board passed 1million posts? Saints are second with 850k.. all about off signings... A full quarter of all board activity if off board...
What's up mother ****as! Great golf round in sunshine and blue skies....a fecking awesome ribeye steak....inch and a half thick.. . And a great bottle of red.... Total cure to watching our match yesterday ...
Telling you...magees butchers inside asda...walking past and there were a couple of ribeye already cut. But the colour and marbling was awesome. When I asked him to cut me a proper one he actually apologised and said..."you know it's fatty" I resisted the urge to ask how the **** he became a butcher lol.. this isn't the actual one but this is what it looked like only darker:
As in properly aged.... hmmmmmm i hope you told him to discount you for it veing so... "fatty" Wow...
Yeah...couldnt believe it... didn't have the heart...it was already cheap (only 6.99 for each cut ffs) being the butchers while not asda butcher section itself franchised over here. I've not seen the like outside my proper local butchers and I paid well for that lol... So yeah I bought 6. 4 in the freezer...not ideal but feck it lol. Edit: there were only 6 on the cut left...also thought about slapping him for cutting 1/4 inch steaks off it already for the display.... sacrilege lol
Yeah.... well other than the risk or coronary itd keep well in fridge for the week Almost never get a good ribeye.
Our butcher does fantastic steaks, rib eye is 28 day hung. All his meat is from Shropshire farms. Best butcher I have ever used.
My old local was as good...but 3 midi markets with in house butchers in same town and asda and Lidl 5 miles away....killed it...too many philistines round my way...think it's "fresh" the brighter the red lol
The bloke that has our butcher makes his own pies and sausages. He supplies a cafe in Sunderland after the cafe owner was visiting Shrewsbury and called in for a pie whilst he was here. The whole family are involved in the business he is only one of three independent butchers in Shrewsbury, the rest have shutdown due to the supermarkets. My guy has the advantage that he supplies a large amount of the pubs and restaurants in town as he has such a good reputation.
He should be applauded for breaking out of the business model that fails. The higher end he goes the more he will succeed. Might need to put a van on to bring them their ****. Funny thing is all those restaurants need fresh vegetables etc too... maybe a co-op could form. Imo the more guys who do this and buck the big boys using no brain lads off the dole as cheap meat choppers the better.
I got your text. It's all entirely down to what happens. I think I found out about my current job Weds/Thurs so may not be able to make it!
