If I was him I'd just get on with it and accept it. If he appeals, I take it we'd still hold his registration therefore stopping him from joining a new club? How long can premiership clubs sign and register free transfers into their squad lists for? Does he have the time to appeal or was this timed tactically by our management?

If he does end up at DQPR then I hope we get them in the FA cup. Give him a good send off and that!

It says a lot when the vast majority of us are very happy to see the back of one of the most talented players to appear at the club.
Hopefully he will try and salvage some respect by going on to accept term with another club and leave City quietly (heres hoping tho!)
It wasn;t Bullards fault that he had such a monster contract , but he is to blame for his approach to playing football when it was announced how much we couldnt afford him.

Hopefully this will be the end of it. The club will have had a lot of stuff to consider over this as it has never been done before without firm proof of drug use. I suppose they will have weighed up the amount Bullard would accept as a pay off against any likely compensation he could get from winning an appeal. I would imagine there are lots of other clubs watching how this develops with interest.

He may go quietly and quickly so he can play football - as he told the BBC in February.

"Finances aren't everything I'm about, football's my main prerogative - hopefully I can give a positive answer at the end of the season," he said.

Pretty sure we wont hold is registration. I expect he will get a club pretty quickly and then let his solicitors appeal against the termination of his contract.

I very much doubt this will be the end of anything. In fact this is now the beginning!

This means there is no agreement. City have now thrown the dice and we have to see where they fall.

Bullard is free to sue us for breach of contract and we are free to sue him for damages.

At best we will be able to get back millions we have paid to him and opportunity costs.

At worst we will have to pay him what remains on his contract and any damages that might now accrue to him.

They could also agree a settlement out of court.

Brave decision by the Allams, a lot depends on what he did in Slovenia and what proof they have that he did it.

The wording is a little strange, in that it says we have given notice to terminate his contract but he can appeal. You would have thought they could state a reason (ie misconduct or similar) without causing any legal problems. Also how come it isn't with immediate effect? Unless it is but it is just the wording, if we have grounds for termination you would think it would be immediate.

Best bit for me is seeing the Ipswich boards getting this news up before us, they are literally obsessed with the magical power of Bullard.

Tbh this is Jimmy, some decent human being may move on and get a huge pay off from another club, Jimmy will do that and appeal. I highly doubt that we will see the end of this for a while. However this will finally prove it is not about football and about money. May take the media and fans attention away from the pitch and putting less pressure on the players.

I'm guessing they have been told they have a case before getting to this stage, otherwise they are setting up for a big fall

So effin mad about this. No doubt it is the right thing to do & I hope we have a water tight case to stop the pikey leech getting anymore of our money BUT with his on form talent he should have been something great for our team and it is the biggest white elephant I've seen in years... so to speak.

Haven't the PFA been involved in this also. Club must feel confident they can sack him without compo at this stage. Either way expect the pr*t to appeal and see where that takes us.

I guess the Allams are prepared to pay-out if by any small chance Bullard won some sort of case against us. I'm not a legal expert but his conduct must give us a very good chance of winning any legal actions if and when they come.

i noticed that, too. some of the comments on that TWTD website make me laugh. one about pearson being unable to control bullard - absolute tosh, it's called having discipline at the club, bullard probably turned up to training hammered everyday at ipswich but nothing will have been said because jewell was probably in as bad a state. i'd rather support a club that has discipline, personally.

Like was said on another thread, we were warned about Bullard by the Fulham fans and ignored it, the Tractor Boys should read this thread and take note!

There is a lot of this that we do not know other then rumours. Going on the rumours and knowledge of employment law I would expect the following:

Either Bullard weighs up his options and says "I could lose this, might as well take a signing on fee and decent contract"

    Or

He will go for breach of contract or wrongfull dismissal. In that case we will be in the courts, I expect we would win, arguements would be
Lawyer - "Did JB attack NP/ use drugs ect ect ect"
Club "Yes, the attack was witnessed by x, y, z/ Yes this drug test shows ......."

I cant see us holding his registration, most courts look for loss of earnings, so it would be in our best interests for him to find a club on as big a wage as possible. Holding his contract could also be seen preventing him gain employment which is illeagal in British and European courts
