I think he is a Londoner but doesn't he live somewhere like Warsash. Or he did, so we can claim him.

That's the way I saw it but I am not going to dispute you because in the last 20 metres Mitchell-Blake put on the burners, while Coleman remained flat-footed. Actually the guy who ran the third leg for Team GB ran a great bend and yielded little to Gatlin. I am watching the Spanish channel so I have no idea who was on the 3rd leg.

C.J.Ujah 1st, Gemili 2nd, Danny Talbot 3rd, Mitchell-Blake 4th. Danny Talbot is a 200m specialist so is good at bends!

Strange how none of them performed in their individual events but how they put that together tonight for the home fans, Excellent from GB. The exchanges were brilliant and that put the US team, who had the faster individuals, under pressure and were probably conscious of not fouling up again, hence my comment about Coleman being flat while Mtichell-Blake was flying because of the earlier exchange.

We have strength in depth, whereas to win an individual medal you need to be a star....and we lack those at the moment. So it comes down to time to practice...perhaps they put more into it as it will be a real chance of a medal. One of the lads thanked the lottery....so I guess it gives them time to practice.

May I politely suggest that you may need to set more time aside for training. :)

Mitchell Blake made the 200m final and came 4th or 5th. Not particularly under performing and can run sub 10s 100m. I admit Ujah under achieved but only just missed out on the final. Due to injuries that Gemili has suffered this season, he didn't partake in the individual events which is a shame, because zharnel Hughes in the 200m did not look at his best. Finally, Talbot ran a pb to make it to the semis of the 200m, and lost out to some very good runners. Prescod who made the final of 100m didn't even get in to the team, shows the strenght in depth.

Thank you SFTW. Japan got the bronze. I might be totally wrong but I think the French individually are faster than the Japanese, but it just shows the importance of the exchanges. Team GB must have had a change of coach for the relay teams since the debacle of the Olympics and previous Games.

Christian Malcolm has been responsible for overseeing the relay teams (men's and women's) since April 2015, I understand.

Can't believe Liz McColgans daughter is running in the 5K....if you'd asked me I'd have said she must be 8. Do we all live in the same universe?

I know! Had a jolt earlier when I heard that it's 40 years ago Wednesday that Elvis died. I'd have said 25 years...

A truly great athlete of his time, a smashing bloke, and one of the iconic voices in broadcasting.

    Have a great retirement Brendan!
