Shows how its easier to score goals when the other team aren't defending. there'll be much easier games to score goals in than Swansea at home.
In most seasons, I wouldn't blink an eye about the failure to score yesterday. My sole focus would be what a top performance it was, and how superior than Swansea we were in practically every department. But alas, as I have already said, I can't look beyond two very key points. Firstly, it's a continuation of last season (and for the people who are pointing out the number of chances we created, well have you forgotten that is exactly how we started last season too. And no things didn't get better, aside from Gabbi's immediate purple patch. Ultimately they actually got worse; rather than continuing to miss all those chances, we simply stopped creating them). This in turn is a horrible indictment of our transfer dealings at the business end of the pitch. Secondly, the Virgil's and the Mane's and the Wanyama's I'm sure really don't care much for a good performance. They want trophies. They want European football. They want success. Christ alive, challenging the big six is going to be horrifically difficult as it is. We've just made it even harder by dropping two points at home to Swansea. Fine, settle for finish 9th or 12th or 14th or whatever. But don't then make these guys all public enemy number one when they try and engineer moves away.
Im not worried , I just give up trying to explain to you , when you have your head in the clouds. You never want to hear negatives when they are more important thab positives.
I think you kind of missed my attempt at humour/irony. You were moaning about Saints not converting from 25+attempts. But never mind. Really no need for you to go round hurling insults. I feel sorry for you that you feel the need to be so angry.
Just goes to show there really are 2 types of people in this world - glass half empty and glass half full. I'm off out to enjoy this beautiful day. I suspect you are not happy that the sun is going to get in your eyes....
They had 10 men when they scored one of the goals. I know how you like your mistakes being pointed out
I have no problem with anyone moving on to better themselves , but in this instance , the way VVD has gone about it STINKS IMHO .
They're really not more important. I'll give you that being able to score is the single most important area, and you can't win a game without doing that but positives are more important than negatives. being able to play to your strengths is more important than strengthening your weaknesses, although it benefits you to do both and its usually easier to strengthen a weakness. As a supporter though its most important to enjoy yourself, and i don't see any point in being blinkered to all the positives and focusing on the one negative we can't change .
In this football sense, positives are things you are doing right, negatives are things you are doing wrong. How can you recitfy the things you are doing wrong if you dont want to hear about them?
I see the summer break has done everyone on here the world of good. All back refreshed and ready for business as usual, bickering, moaning and moaning about moaning. Personally I thought we looked bloody good. This is the kind of football we all love and if we can keep performances like that up we will give anyone a game. However somebody somewhere worked out its been 545 minutes since we scored at home. That is absolutely farkig terrible. No point denying it. MP has got the team playing great. Here's hoping he can get them scoring goals.
You can pick holes in every season when it comes to points dropped. As others have said we are going to win a game this season where perhaps a draw would have been the fair result. The window is yet to shut and if the rumours about Longs departure are true, then it looks like we will be bringing in another attacker. I don't give much value to the back end of last season. It was clearly under a manager who was on the way out and a team with little to be motivated about. A line should be drawn
We can't rectify the things we are doing wrong, we don't run the club. Besides, as i said, you score by focusing on your strengths, if you have tall players you get somebody in you can deliver good long balls and set pieces for example. The way to improve your attack is to compliment the things you are doing well. that often means buying things that are missing but its pointless to improve something that doesn't feature in your style of attack. edit: I think in order to bring out the best in our forwards we need a threat in midfield to lure away some defenders. Thats saying the same thing as a lot of people would say just going about it in a positive manner. I'm hoping Mario will be that threat.
Spot on. The key word is supporter. Leicester managed to win the league with a perfect storm. Poor performance from the "big" clubs, a team spirit that carried them through and flippin great support from their excellent fan base with the Walkers stadium literally bouncing them to victory. MoPe is quite right in wishing our fan base to make the 12th man and being a season ticket holder and part of the crowd yesterday I was well chuffed at the vibes and the support in the ground. The atmosphere in the 10 mins leading up to kick off was amazing and not unnoticed that the club made some subtle changes to encourage this (playing the rather stately My Way song earlier in the build up and playing Insomnia immediately before the team came out whilst we waved and thumped the free fans that adorned every seat in a crazed tribal manner!). We need to keep this up even when things aren't going our way because that is what support is. Not whinging and whining and focussing on negatives. Of course we are not naive to think that things that aren't going to plan don't need to be worked on (the "negatives"). I happen to know that at least Austin and Gabbiadini can find the back of the net regularly but that also we are deficient in goals from other areas of the team. But I love our current squad and think they all have something to offer. We really don't need people who don't understand the meaning of the word support. They just bring everything down and then you definitely don't win games.
